Heard back from NS, Sydney / Submited-16 Jan / Received - 18th Feb.

Hello Everyone,

I received the letter from NS, Sydney today. I submitted my application on January 16th. I now have 120 days to submit the documents. Now, one small but made me concerned is that it says 120 days from the date of issue of the letter. The letter is dated 26th January and I got it today on 18th Feb. So, its already 120-23= 97 days. hehe. Not that it makes much difference but it feels good to have all the 120 days in hands . On the brighter side I have 23 less days to wait for immigration .

Thanks a lot everyone, especially rupeshari in helping me filling my application correctly. Will keep you updated about my progress.

HI There,

Whenever you receive correspondence from CIC, it is always counted from the date of the issuance of letter not when you received it.

My 120 days letter is dated January 3 and I received it February 13th. Can you imagine that?

unfortunately, it depends too much on the postal system. It would be better if the IMM0008 General forms had a unique ID on them and applicants could check their status online with their passport number or something like that and know whether they were successful or not.

If I get a letter from Sydney to continue to process that means I have BIG chances of getting my PR ? or its just a filter?

its a filter and your chances have improved. The rest depends on proving your points, medical and security checks.

Yeah, I believe it is the filter and the first step towards the immigration process. The CIC has currently gave a green flag as per the information that I sent. Now, I need supporting documents to prove what I have written in my application to go through the next step.

finally i got my letter to go ahead from ciu. my application was received on 24 dec. they issued letter on 26 jan . posted on 9 feb and i received on 18 feb. i have 120 days from 26 jan to submit the papers ( 25 may deadline)
