Hi,

I recently heard that the rule for applying for PR has changed, as in, it isn't necessary to have a job in the field you have studied a program. Heard that even if we have a regular office job and fulfill the number of hours worked we can still apply for PR. Is this true?

Yeah , you can apply PR with having any job but job must fall under NOC list.

is it supposed to be in a specific category in NOC?
Yes, it has to be under NOC 0, A & B only if you are applying under CEC program.
