Health Insurance for IEC Working Holiday

Hello All,

My girlfriend has received an IEC Working Holiday Visa (well at least the Port of Entry for now) and we understand that she needs health insurance for the entirety of her stay. Does her health insurance need to be provided by a provider in Germany or can she pay for coverage from a Canadian provider? Does anyone have any experience or insight with this issue? Any help is appreciated, thanks a lot!

1. It doesn't matter where the health insurance company is located, but it must contain repatriation as well as health insurance.

and repatriation cover tends to be only available from insurance purchased from home country although you might find some specialist visitor insurance providers just a matter of googling and maybe calling/emailing.
