Hello Everyone,
I need some clarification on the following. Here is my situation. I got my COPR and PR Visa last month. I am planning to land, on May first week. I will be landing in Toronto and provide the address of my friend who is living in Toronto for the PR card delivery. Currently I am in touch with an employer in Canada who is working on processing my job offer. The employer wants me to work from the Client office which is in Montreal.
My wife is pregnant right now and she will be on her 24th week when we land. I did some research and found that, to be eligible for the Quebec health card, I need to be a resident in the province and intend to stay more than 6 months. I can get the necessary documentation of house lease agreement and letter from the employer on the work location. Now my concern is what all the health care services can be availed in Quebec during the waiting period of 90 days. In the RAMQ website they have mentioned the below,
"Pending receipt of your card, be sure to keep the letter indicating that you are subject to a waiting period. This is because, given the situation, some healthcare services may be available free of charge to persons waiting for their coverage to take effect, for instance:
services needed by victims of conjugal or domestic violence or of sexual assault;
services related to pregnancy, child birth or termination of pregnancy;
services needed by people suffering from infectious diseases that have an impact on public health."
Anybody faced similar situation ? Do anyone know what all will be covered in the Pregnancy during the waiting period ? Will we get appointment easily without a Health Card during waiting period ? Will the tests and scanning will be covered during that waiting period ?
Any information answering the above is much appreciated.
