Hi everyone,

My mom got the Medical surveillance form from IRCC and I am seeking information of how much the cost is. Anybody knows that if the super visa is eligible for the provincial health card. I am in Calgary now.

Thanks so much for your help.

Thanks for your prompt reply, I really appreciate it. I bought travel insurance for my mom at Manulife and they are not covering for this expense. Do you know any insurance company that accepts to cover medical check up ? Thanks !

I'm not sure anymore, sorry, I deleted my response. You should contact Alberta Health. Since a super visa lets then stay more than 12 months, they may actually be eligible. Yet other sources indicate they are ineligible.

Immigration medical checkups has to be paid out of pocket. There's no insurance carrier or provincial health plan that will cover this expense. The insurance what you would have bought from Manulife will cover only during a change in medical condition or emergencies as your mother is still in Visitor's status.

The whole point of a supervisa is to allow parents to visit without having access Provincial health coverage. Supervisa only cover emergency care. Routine healthcare and medication aren’t covered. If a parent has a medical emergency they will be expected to seek ongoing care in their country, if needed, once they are deemed safe to travel.

Thanks everyone for your help. I applied supervisa online for my mom in Dec 2018, then IRCC requested for submission of original passport in Jan and medical check up. Then our status was approved in May 2019 and IRCC asked for passport again.
I emailed them to say my mom's passport was submitted through vfs months ago as this is confusing. They have not replied on my question but sent Medical surveillance form. I am totally in dark now and don't know what to do next. Anybody ever had experience like me, please help. We are from Vietnam. Thanks!
