Hi

In the description of the insurance that I am considering to purchase as my IEC health insurance, one of the requirements is stated as:
"Should not be eligible/covered under any provincial/territorial healthcare plan in Canada."

Here is my situation.

I am already working in Canada (on a temporary work permit) and have Albertsa health insurance. My plan is, to purchase IEC insurance and activate my IEC work permit and then work part time in my current job and part time in a new job for which I need to use IEC work permit. After two month or so I am going to stop my current job and work only in the new job on the IEC permit. So, for a while I will still have Alberta health insurance because of my current job (at least I am eligible for Alberta health care).

Is that a problem for purchasing the IEC insurance?

And is it even allowed to have "two work permits" at the same time?

You need to contact your IEC insurance provider directly given for IEC the major requirement is for repatriation to home country cover something provincial insurance will not provide.

Also IEC insurance is travel insurance for emergencies and is not health insurance for routine medical issues. It could be that your IEC insurance provider is simply indicating if you have provincial insurance they will not pay out under your IEC policy but you need to contact them directly as unlikely to get an answer in a forum.
