Hi,

I have received my COPR via OINP and planning to land soon in Ontario. I am the secondary applicant and my spouse is the primary applicant.

I have applied for jobs in Ontario and how I don't see any responses. I have contacted my ex-employers in Ontario and BC. My ex-employer in BC has extended me an offer and it is a very competitive one.

I have my extended family in Ontario and eventually would come back, even if I work in BC for an year or two.

My questions are:

1. Can I start my work in BC , say a few weeks after landing in Ontario and keep searching for jobs in Ontario? Would this affect my PR status?

2. My spouse and kid would stay in Ontario for a while (with my relatives) and later join me in BC. If I find a competitive job offer from Ontario, I would return but maybe in 1-2 years so as to do some justice to my BC employer who is giving me the job. Would this satisfy my intent to reside in Ontario?

3. I also plan to book a home in Ontario after landing as I will return eventually and prices are going up. I may leave it for rent and later occupy. Does this add to my intent to reside in Ontario?

I understand that getting jobs in Canada without any Canadian experience is difficult, hence I don't want to let go of the BC offer that will help me and my family get some stability before we settle in Ontario where we intent to settle eventually.

I recommend you read this:

https://www.justforcanada.com/moving-to-another-province-pnp-express-entry.html

It explains fairly well the risks, the rules and what you can do to limit those risks.

Thanks a lot! I went through the same and it was helpful. I will probably email OINP asking them if I can move for now (while continuing to search for a job in Ontario). I have a bunch of rejection emails from recruiters in Ontario, in fact I never applied for BC, just that my ex-employer is there and agreed for a transfer.
Also, I have full intentions of settling in Ontario when I manage to secure a job in Ontario so maybe I will book a home in Ontario to prove that intent.

@legalfalcon , could you please suggest. Thanks a lot!

In general you should be able to show that you landed in Ontario and did try to resettle there and find a job (keep records) when that wasn’t possible you moved to another province because you found a job in BC.
