Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone has received a RQ request even though they never left Canada (not even a day trip to the USA) since they arrived.

I was told this happens by an immigration lawyer and was just wondering if anyone on this forum has any first hand experiences.

Somebody told me that if you have never left Canada, CIC gets SUSPICIOUS about it then it raises the red flag and you get RQ.

We are close to that, we only left for 1 month for vacation, still got RQ. :'(

I've not left the country at all since my original entry date, didn't get an RQ. Also, for what it's worth, my passport had been expired since before applying, did not renew it to this day. HTH

I have read somewhere that expired passport is a BAD THING because it implies that you may have another one that you don't want to show and therefore you are hiding something, even if you are not.

What's your timeline ? Maybe you will get RQ, who knows ?

Hi ottawa_girl,

I'm a citizen already, applied in October 2011 with a passport expired by almost a year (Nov 2010) and no travel outside the country since my original entry date. HTH

Hi Ottawa_Girl,

I only applied a couple weeks ago, so I have a long wait ahead of me.
Only time will tell if I get an RQ or not.
