Hello,

I was a previous PR of Canada. I moved there when I was a minor. I later applied for citizenship but abandoned it when I left Canada and I gave up my PR. I am now applying for Express Entry after many years.

For the questions

1)Have you applied to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada before?
2) Have you applied for Permanent Residence (PR) before?

For the 1st I answered yes because I did apply to citizenship. For the 2nd how should I reply? I was a minor and I came with my parents. They applied for PR. Should I answer no although I had a PR Card?

When you say you gave up your PR status did you complete an application to renounce your PR status or simply return your PR card ? If only the latter then you would still be a PR although you imply you may have been away some time so no longer meet the residency oblgation so would need to renounce now before reapplying.

As for question (2) I would have said answer would be yes given as usual is badly worded and in my view anyway is have you either applied for or been a PR before. Others may have a different view.

I completed the application to renounce it. Of course for question 2 it should have probably been have you ever applied to or been a PR. When a question is badly worded like that how is it usually handled?
