Hi! I have a Canadian Boyfriend.., and we are planning to get marry next year. But my boyfriend want me to come in Canada for 1 month only to visit him and to meet his family personally. He has been here in my country for 2 times. Do I have a chance to apply for visitors visa? My Boyfriend can sponsor for me? Thank you.

Hello, Car0506! You can apply for visitor visa but I think you have to have a stronger case convincing the visa officer that you will return home to your home country. A lot of senior members here have said that applicants who have boyfriends/girlfriends who are Canadian citizens or living in Canada have more difficulty in getting a TRV because of possibility of staying long term in Canada.

Where are you from and do you have stable job in your home country? Have you travelled before to other countries? Your boyfriend can provide you accommodations. And I suggest that you request for only 2 weeks stay than one month.

My boyfriend have his own house and Job. And yes I have a stable job but not in my own country. I am working overseas and my contract there is five years. Im just only have my yearly vacation. So I would like to spend my vacation with my boyfriend to be with him and meet his family, then go back to my work again.

Oh I am from the Philippines too

You are working where? Maybe you can provide your contract of employment, leave form, bank statements, paystubs, if you have a property here in the Philippines that will help too. Your goal is to convince the visa officer that you will not overstay in Canada. Request for two weeks.

Are you single? Are you helping your family back here financially?

Oh good to hear that you are also a Pilipino. Yes I can provide the things you mentioned except property.., our house in Philippines is under the name of my father.. the title of the land and our car. No.., im not working to help my family for financial. Im not interested to stay in Canada. I loved my job. All I want is to see where my boyfriend grown up and to meet his family.

I see. You cannot use the properties because they are not under your name. Provide as much documents as you can related to your work, that it is imperative for you to finish your contract with your employer that's why there is a need for you to go back to your work, photos with your boyfriend when he visited you, and provide an explanation letter.

Have you travelled before?

Ok. Include that information too. They might not be a visa required country but that's good too. The countries I have visited too are just South East Asian countries :)
