I have 26 months experience in my skilled profession as a welder. I'd like to apply whilst in Canada as my visa is up in few months, though I've only filed my taxes now (its a my bad on my part) so I won't be getting my NOA for a while as it's my first tax filings and it apparently can take as little few weeks to months no one knows.

I already have a extremely detailed employer letter, all my paystubs and T4's for all the years I worked, can I just submit everything without the NOA? I'd be wasting time waiting for it as I have all proof that I worked 26 months already, thats the only document I'm missing and apparently you don't even need it if you have everything else but I heard otherwise...

dohboi,

You mentioned you have 26 months of experience. i.e more than 2 years. Did you not file your tax returns the previous year ? You may get this as a question.

It takes 16 weeks to receive NOA if you are filing it the first time.

I do love the helpful nature of other peoples comments :)

You will be fine.

1) Provide a letter saying you haven't received your NOA but you will do so as soon as you receive it.
2) ENSURE you supply your most recent T4
3) If you have held the same job DO NOT provide all of your pay slips. Provide your end of year slips which show how much you made and paid in tax for that financial year.

It's not the end of the world, apply away !

You aren't required to file a tax return unless you owe taxes (it would be to your loss not to, but it is perfectly legal).

Nonetheless, I agree with jsm0085. Include a letter stating that you will include your 2013 NOA once it is filed, and ensure you include your T4s and Paystubs. The CIC uses the NOA to substantiate your actual income against what you say in your employment letters.

On a tax note, you can file taxes back 3 years and still get any eligible refunds (I suggest doing so - you will also get your RRSP contribution room, miscellaneous credits, and other benefits from filing).

Hi,

My Notice of Assessment had not arrived via regular mail and upon requesting the same from Canada Revenue Agency, an alternative document was provided to me under the header: “Income Tax Return Information-Regular”. I have been informed by them, that this must be treated as the Notice of Assessment for the year 2011

Please call Canada Revenue Agency and request for “Income Tax Return Information-Regular”. You will get the doc in 5 to 7 business days.

its should be fine.
