I think having direct family in the states is prob the thing that makes things take longer....

My husband's father died in USA . My husband never met him and he did not support my husband and we mentioned that in the form that required information on parents. I can't imagine that causing a delay as he never contacted anyone after moving to the USA. My husband's Mother who is deceased as well was told of his death.

They prob still take the time to investigate and make sure...I could be wrong but it just seems like the applications that have no family ties at all in the US or other red flags get processed a bit faster.

Unfortunately I think it's random. We have no family or friends in the U.S. And it's still taking longer. Hoping to get some news soon. Have to stay positive. But if anyone has any updates please post so the rest of us can have some hope :D

I was asked to pay my husband's visa and a request for a document in November 2014 and heard nothing until July 2015

9 or 10 months since file reached havana??

Ya 9-10 months in Havana.. Seems like there's a huge back up in Havana now and i don't know why we're all getting interviews but it is what it is! Just expect to hear something close to the 10 month mark and if you hear something sooner it will be a nice surprise :)

OMG I hope you are wrong It is over 2 years since we sent our application and now 7 months in Havana another 3 months and we will be into very cold weather in PEI not comfortable for my husband. I was hoping for him to be here this summer to give him a chance to climatize.
