I have emailed the Visa Office the receipts of the son's medical. Yes we are both elated, yet troubled by this response by the Embassy clerk. My husband told the clerk that he will not sign the waiver, and for the Embassy to find the medical results....
ps... it wasn't me that discussed the lack of MDs in Havana.

Update, I spoke with my MPs office last week (Thursday Feb 13) and they checked into the situation. The son's medical results were in the system, and the Visa Office just has to download it or something...

Today Feb 17 I checked the CIC website, and there was a Status change to Medical Results Received. !! :-D
Finally !!

Now we wait for the Embassy to call my husband back.....

Deeb, my husband had his interview Jan 16/2014 at that time his medical expiry was extended to Apr 28/14. We were waiting for his sons medical results to be received. My husband was called by the embassy on Feb 12, 2014 to go for his visa on Feb 19, 2014 but was told he would also have to sign a waiver saying that his son's medical was not done.. which of course was not true. My husband told the embassy to find the results.... so since then our status on Ecas has changed to medical received -----we continue to wait for phone call.

I was approved by the Canadian immigration for my husband application. I would like to know if he can apply now for Temporary residence as a visitor or it is a waste of time and money?. Does anyone knows if spouses are approved under visitor visa??

I applied and was refused once sponsorship approved and Quebec approved. It didn't do anything and was refused.

Has anyone ever applied for a travel document at the Havana VO?

I know that you need this document if you are a PR but don't have your PR card yet. I see on their website that they process these same day, but just wanted to compare this with people who have done it.

Thanks!

Hi

When you do income tax and married and your husband is still in Cuba how do you proceed as there is no sin # to put in ?

Leave the field blank. Not required.

Hi

thank you.

We are off to Havana on April 25 and 26th for medical. I am checking our application to make sure that the information is correct and I notice that my husband does not know when his father was born because his Father was a USA citizen and had no contact at all with him. Both his Mom and Dad are now deceased. Can we leave the birth date blank or should we put an approximate date?

Besides the marriage certificate what other items need to be translated into English from Spanish and where in PEI or the Maritimes can you have that done?

I would call CIC and ask to be sure what you put for your husband's father.

For the translation, any official paper in Spanish needs to be translated. Yes, marriage certificate, birth certificate, antecedentes penales. I don't remember the rest...maybe someone else could clarify.

Hi everyone!

Someone told my husband he needs to get a stamp on his passport for a renewal every 2 years and he thinks he needs to do it now before he comes to Canada. Anyone else hear about this or do this?!

His passport doesn't expire until 2017. I would say he should be able to renew from here.

Thoughts?

Hi

My understanding is that in order for a Cuban to retain their Cuban status they must return to Cuba every two years. ( ie Homes, ration book etc) Havana immigration would have that information regarding a stamp on the passport or their Embassy in Canada. You would need to email the office in Canada as that do not take calls. That would be a question to ask when the person picks up their passport and visa in Havana.

My husband has a 25 year old daughter who lives with her boyfriend and has just had a baby girl April 9th and he has put her down as single on the form for dependants. Is this the correct way to fill in this form ? I think it should be common law and because she is 25 does she fill in the form ?. Which is correct ?

My hubby just did his as he did it in early May 2012 and just did it again in Cuba. Alot cheaper than here too. 20 cuc or cup not sure but here it is I think alot more. I hope this helps?

I'm just completing the paperwork for my new husband and we want to schedule his medical exam in Havana. Has anyone done this recently? I have a couple questions:
1. How long in advance does he need to setup an appointment?
2. He has 2 kids that are not immigrating with him yet I'm aware they still need the medical - what is the cost for him and each child (under 18)?
3. Does Havana have the eMedical system that submits the medicals to CIC electronically or does my husband have to bring pictures with him?

Thanks in advance :)
