Hi

My husband sent our wedding certificate to me from Cuba in January and I have not received it and I am afraid it is lost Does anyone know if I can get another one in Cuba as Cuba now requires an orginial to be sent with the application.

Galano, did he send it this January? I'm pretty sure it takes at least a month sometimes 2 to get to Canada. My husband usually tries to send letters to me via Canadian tourists to speed up the mail. I know for him to get something from me could take 3 months. It's likely on its way.

Question...do you hear that the VO in Havana gives notice only upon issuing of visa via telephone call. Or have you heard of them emailing the sponsored husband (or reg mail). My husband is determined it will all be done by phone because "it's CUBA!". I'm afraid he'll miss an important memo via email. Anyone have any idea/experience on the Havana end?!

They usually call as not evryone has internet Did u put yourself as rep ? If so and u entered an email u may get notice as well. U could always check notes on the application at a small cost.

Hi deeb! Did you check your application status online to find out that the medical was received? When was the medical done? Please keep us posted on your news! Hopefully you hear some good news soon!!!

The medical was received by CIC December 19/ 13. Medical was done august 29/13.
Im hoping to get that call soon . Our application was delayed due to the strike the cic was on .Then there was no panel physician was available for over 1 month. We sent all original documents sent by DHL its alittle bit of money but much faster. Now im thinking the christmas holidays have delayed processing..im just hopIng that the embassy will email all information to my lawyer.my husband recent broke his cell .

Oh good. So sounds like things are ready to roll for you now! January or February you should hear more news I would guess.

Havana office just sent AOR on jan 16th to my husband. Ecas is down so I'm unable to check what it has posted. Always hopeful for speedy and postive process!

Yes hoping for the call soon. I guess all processess are different.Ive checked out a lot of other process times and the average time is 6 mths.im going on 7 mths. Its a long process and very emotional . Its hard for both sides.

It is very hard and emotionally draining. I've only just begun the official waiting game. That's why it's good to have this forum. It's nice to be around others who understand where u r coming from.

Yes alot of positive thinking !! And sometimes it is hard to share your happiness because of all negatives opinions of people . We were married in marcg 2013 .and because of the waiting period for translations. Marrige certificate was held for 30 days .so our application start was delayed until may.February 3 my application will be in Havana 7 months. Nothing about a interview, medical results rec'd. As posted on December 10th. Im assuming no news is good news .fingers crossed!
