Hi PatriChan,

I was approved early January as well and yes, if all goes well I expect April or May to get final approval. Yes 5-6 months seems to be the avg. Sometimes less and sometimes more.. :-)

Hi Panlea! Thanks for your response! Did you get anything from Havana yet...are we to expect something from them (i.e. acknowledgement of receipt, or other) before the actual approval? :-) Best of luck with your process! Keep us posted on your news! :)

No, nothing yet and yes I think we receive an AOR from Habana. Good luck to you as well. Let's hope things go well.

Anyone know if it's still 1 week delay for TRV approval response if we leave app in the Havana embassy mailbox? I think's it's 30 days on-line but not sure in person anymore.

Does anyone know if they will approve Temporary Residency Visa while you are waiting for PRV to be approved (once sponsorhip was approved)?

I am told that you can apply for TRV once PRV has been approved (AOR) to have a better chance but it's not a guarantee. I am awaiting my Quebec paper and then will apply for TRV. I am also told chances are better once both are approved. If you are not in Quebec then I guess no need to wait for Quebec Certificate.

Good stuff. My husband's medical was actually done in July I guess. Do you think that means they should have it by now in Havana? Good luck with your Quebec certificate! :)

My application arrive in havana july 3 2013. I am still waiting for my hubby from cuba. November 10 2013 medical results were received......so far no complications. Just waiting for that call. 6mth 3weeks and counting

Hi deeb! Did you check your application status online to find out that the medical was received? When was the medical done? Please keep us posted on your news! Hopefully you hear some good news soon!!! :)

Hi

My husband sent our wedding certificate to me from Cuba in January and I have not received it and I am afraid it is lost Does anyone know if I can get another one in Cuba as Cuba now requires an orginial to be sent with the application.

I'm pretty sure you can get duplicates right from the person who married you in Cuba. We had 2 or 3 originals given to us. But only one with all the stamps that you need and need to pay for.

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. I am getting married to my Cuban fiance in the summer this year and then start the process for him to come here in Canada with me.
I know there are a lot of 'reasons' for which people can get denied but I was wondering if not enough face to face time could be one of them.. Long story short I met him while I was a student there for 2 months and I'm just going there 5 months later to get married. Of course I would love to go back but the budget is tight. Would that be a major concern for the application?

Thanks :)

Well I guess the one with the stamps is no longer an option as that is the one he sent the first of Jan. Did you send your original to Havana with the application or a copy and the translation ?

Well I think you could get more stamps if you had another original. But I'm not certain. I sent that copy with the stamps. And the translated version also

Maybe have your husband call the notary that married you to see about getting another one.
