Hi Everybody....   We are shocked, very sad, numb We don't even know what to think right now or which direction to even turn :'( :'( :'( :( :'( :-[I have bad news Hubby has been denied his visa :'( :'( :'(. They called him the next morning and said no visa for you. Why did they not tell him right there and then? Why wait? He said everything went well he answered all of the questions except for 1 and a similar one pertaining to that question which has nothing to do with immigrating here. Anyways he said the interview was brutal with this Cuban woman. I told him it is not how hard you fall it is how fast you get back up and ready to fight back. I have a representative helping with our sponsorship thank Gawd or we would be sol I think. Anyways we are going to order our CAIPS notes as soon as we get hubby to sign and DHL it back and get my signature. It aint over until it's over.Let the games begin! We were told that most denials get overturned. The woman said we have alot of proofs etc never looked at them much at all hubby said. They requested this information of futher contiunation of proofs but don't look at it???? Also hubby said she was just waiting for him to screw up and when that 1 question came about she tore a strip off him immediately. Wow! I can't believe this is happening. I am home with the Norwalk virus and an infected eye. I think it is a sty? Never had one of those before I woke up with it. probably from all of this stress. I threw up when I got the news. We both cried on the phone and with his Mom. We thought what would have been a special day for us turned into a nightmare the next day. They even said everything is ok and we will call you this week probably for the visa. It was the same nasty woman that called him the next morning to say no. Why does one have to get married first before sponsoring? If push comes to shove what does one do later if denied again? get an annulment or a divorce? What they should do is what they do in the UK. they allow Cubans to go to England for 6 months on a visitor's visa. I know of a couple that did this and got married there and they are doing an inland app.We are commonwealth with the UK, Austrailia, why can't we do the same. Why force someone to get married first then only get denied? This is wrong on so many levels. I am very upset and very angry right now. Why don't they make sponsored immigrants check in once per month once they are here to make sure everything is going accordingly instead of forcing to marry to sponsor? I love my husband very much as he does me. Thankyou everybody for your support. I love all of you very much. I wish everyone the very best in their process and to everyone that have their hubbies home with them. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* This truly sux!!!! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Double Rainbow I am so very sorry to hear this. It's sad when people's lives can be controlled by one individual. Keep your positive attitude and fight this. You will be together; just a hurdle to overcome....xoxoxo

So sorry. You have the right attitude however. Positive vibes always :-* I am so nervous no call for us just yet. I am pulling out my hair of worry and stress for the call and even after the call. I always wonder if some questions from the agent like does your wife go to church? I mean, sorry on the app there is nothing like so he she asks my husband and he answred no how the hell does she even know what the truth is???? is it all in the way he answers and attitude?

Hi Everyone, great to have a thread just for Havana! I'm cuban living in Canada for the lasts 10 months. Got married in Havana last month, waiting for wedding certificate now to submit the application to sponsor my spouse. Hopefully before January ends. There is one thing I haven't figure out yet, maybe any of you can help me with this. I'm employed but don't have an "Option C Printout" to deliver since I haven't paid my taxes yet. Will this be a problem? Can I submit my "Option C Printout" at later stage?
Thanks in advance ;D

Welcome rgbspace.....I am fairly new to this forum as well. My son married a cuban woman in August 2012 and he has used a consultant to help with paperwork. I am not sure but I would think that you would need this option C printout for the file to get past the first stage for you to get your approval to sponsor and then the file is sent to Havana for processing. Any thoughts from anyone else?

Hello and welcome

I am not sure about the option C. If you do not have one..then you cannot submit one. Depending on when you are ready to submit...you may be able to submit 2012 option C. Tax season is fast approaching. As soon as you submit your taxes and they have processed them I imagine you will be able to request your option C. Best thing to do....call the customer service line available on the CIC website....call first thing in the morning...before they get busy. Good luck!

If you have any questions about the process and the application we love to help!

Cheers!

Good Evening Havana Forum

This past week was not a great one for us. When one of us suffers a blow we all feel it. It makes us all worry and it makes us all feel awful for our fellow pal.

Tomorrow starts a new week. I hope we can all find some positive to look forward too. Dbl Rainbow has ALWAYS been so positive and always been so supportive. This is inspiration for all of us.

I am keeping you all in my thoughts, and really hoping we see some movement for those who are close to expecting calls. C'mon Havana!

DDG is back. Did you get some quality time with hubby? Keep us posted
Avana how was weekend # 2 with handsome hubby?
KJG How is hubby enjoying his new job?
ppsandy...any news or updates from Havana?
panorama..where you been girl? Update us on your process when you can....or come blow off some steam : )

Online it shows my file is in process since the 10th of december as well. I am getting quite nervous thinking something may be wrong however I know I am within the timelines. I guess knowing how solid my package was I was thinking it would be so much quicker :( ??? ::)

Hi Everyone....Had a great weekend Sassy as the weather was awesome for January. My son visited this weekend as he does most as he waits for his bride to join him from Cuba. We talked on the phone and her first question to my son is always how much longer "my love". It broke our hearts after the wedding to leave her standing at the airport. He has managed to visit her twice since the wedding...in October and December but as you know it is hard to say goodbye and harder every time.
So Sassy the AOR for Havana was received the same day for the both of us so we can keep eachother updated. I told my D.I.L. one month has passed since Havana had the file so with any luck we will hear something by the end of February or beginning of March with regards to an interview...With any luck maybe no interview. We are trying to stay optimistic after the sad news of last week. Sending good thoughts everyday to Double Rainbow for a positive appeal just so sad that a husband and wife have to go through all of this to be together as it should be.

Welcome to our forum rgbspace!!!! If you have not yet filed income tax that will be okay.......you will need a letter from your employer and if you can provide copies of some recent paystubs togther with a letter setting out that you have only been in Canada for 10 months, have not yet file a return but will be doing so this year for the 2012 taxation and you should be fine. Option C is just to confirm you are not on welfare and will a letter of employment and paystubs you should be ok!!!

Thank you so much sassielassie, Greeneyes and KJG for clarifying and for the warm welcome, you guys are amazing :) I will definitely give CIC customer service a call and will also have my lasts paystubs and a letter from my employer ready just in case. We are still waiting for the wedding certificate to be issued, meanwhile gathering all the documents and filling the forms. My husband and I are both from Havana, we dated 12 years ago for almost a year, but we were just a couple of inmature kids back then. To make the story short: just 3 months before my PR was granted in 2012 we found each other again. :D A year later we were happily married! Luckily for us the biggest obstacle was just removed, since professionals from the health care sector are now allowed to travel as the rest of the cubans (my hubby is a dentist) So, no more 5 year waiting for cuban doctors. Getting the visa from canada seems like a piece of cake compared to that, so I'm optimistic. I appreciate very much your guidance, best of luck to everyone.

yes that would be an aor...LOL..sort of....I received a letter mid-September stating that they have the file and I was not allowed to contact them until January 11, 2013......but even before I got that letter my husband had received the call....they had his email address but they sent this letter to him c/o my address!! there is no rhyme or reason with this embassy :-X
