My hubby and I are still waiting for our marriage certificate !! Hubby will be doing his medical in January, and I will join him in February.

I hope this message finds you all well. I had MR and Mrs Avana on my mind all day yesterday. My heart tells me he has his visa in his hand and both families are celebrating together.

Thankyou sassy Right back to you XO :-* Yes I have been thinking alot about Avana and Mr. Avana also bc Avana's hubby's interview was yesterday as we know and on a Monday and my hubby's interview is exactly 2 weeks later to the day and on a Monday. I hope your heart is right and that Mr. Avana has his visa in hand and they are celebrating. This would be a good indicator for my hubby if the visa was issued on this day rather than the norm being on a Thursday. Ohhhhhhhh I hope Mr. Avana has the visa as of yesterday. I also hope DDG has heard news as well. Come on Havana keep it rolling for us.I hope January 07th will be visa day for hubby fingers crossed.

Hey Ladies!

Sorry I have been absent for the past few days... getting ready for this trip has been the most hectic ever!! Shuster, I hope hubby has landed safely and you guys are both nesting! KJG-Hope the wedding was beautiful! Sassy-Hope you and baby are doing well!! The rest of you, hope phone calls are coming soon!!

I am off in just a few hours for a whole two weeks!! AHHHH so excited!! Monday the interview, so everything is ready, have another pile of papers for continuing proof. Just 10 days of our conversations adds up to 60 pages, so I am reluctant to bring more.. lol Hoping that the trips, phone bills, pics add up to a good enough amount of info!

I will likely not be able to post while I am there, but if I get the chance I will! Still have not had the chance to receive the notes, so I am hoping they come in asap!! Today is the 30th day....

Anyhoo, wishing all of you a very happy holidays and a happy new year!! Ill be back on the 4th, so I will give you news on whether or not hubby has landed with me!!! AHHHHHHHHH!! So surreal!!

Hellloooo everyone! Hope everyone's Christmas was wonderful.

I see we are still waiting to hear from Avana....hopefully she will check in soon and let us know. A friend of mine who is not on this forum just called me a few minutes ago and her husband had his interview and was told to come back at 3pm for his passport!!! Sounds to me like we have another Cuban on his way to Toronto in the near future. My husband will be thrilled that a friend from Matanzas will not be far away!!

Yoani loved his first Canadian Christmas and we were blessed with a white one after all. It surely helped that we had a lot of family here to keep him entertained. It could not have been better my friends. I got him tickets to go see a Raptors game since our beloved natioanal sport is on strike....and I had put them in a card and wrapped them up in a box. He opened the present up and kinda pushed the tickets to the side to read the card and then when he realized what they were he jumped up and gave me the biggest hug and whispered in my ears....just hold me I do not want anyone to see me with the water in my eyes......thank you so much for the present and I love you so very much....well then of course my eyes filled up.....honestly it was a beautiful feeling. Even my kids loved the way he reacted!!!!

Hoping Shuster's Christmas was awesome and her husband not too overwhelmed!!!

It's nice to see so much good news for everyone and I hope the new year brings so much more for everyone!!!!

Hello ladies!!!! Merry Christmas to all.

Been so busy since hubby arrived. His arrival went well and his flight was an hour early which was great.
Airport was crazy busy but we had our romance movie run towards one another and I cried like a baby.

There has been lots of tears of happiness, he actually cried a little the first day at the mall, of happiness and also complete sadness at how oppressed Cuba is.
We haven't stopped visiting and eating for a week, so happy to be home today and not doing anything.

My family loves him and he loved Christmas but was way too overwhelmed with the presents and food!
He's figured his way around the house well but hasn't ventured out by himself yet, don't need him getting lost in Toronto haha.
English testing and school starts the 9th. My friend may have a p/t dish washing job for now after school.

Hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and congrats on all the calls and visas!!!!

Hello everyone. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Just read KJG and Shuster's posts Awwwwwwww. I am so happy your husbands are here and you had a wonderful Christmas. Your posts made me cry alot :'( about your husband's first Christmas here, arrival of Mr. Shu the romance movie awwww, the mall, being overwhelmed with alot food and presents and the saddness of Cuba being so oppressed awwwww. I am very happy your hubby's are here to enjoy their new lives. Hopefully my hubby will be here in January?My friend went to Cuba yesterday and hubby met her in VRA this morning. I spoke with both of them awhile ago. My friend gave hubby all of the things I sent with the new paperwork for his interview coming up January 07th 2013. They will spend the day together. She is getting married to our Cuban wedding photographer April 2013. Have a great day everyone xoxoxo

Happy Sunday Havana Forum!

Has everyone enjoyed all this white stuff??? Laritza and I pretty much stayed in the last few days and enjoyed the weather from indoors. We did take a walk on Friday to get some fresh air...but half the sidewalks were not plowed!!! It was a pain in the butt to push the stroller through : )

So happy to get the update from Shuster...I know things must have been very busy with hubby's landing and then Christmas right around the corner.

KJG...your story was sooo touching....I actually read it late the other night...after I read some negative stuff about a bunch of Cuban Canadians on another site. That post made me sad and a lil angry...then I popped by here and saw your post which was an awesome reminder of all the successful stories of Cubans marrying Canadians. I only had time this morning to come back to tell you that your story really cheered me up. So thank you!!!!!

The good news on my end is that I booked my ticket for our flight to see hubby/daddy!!!! So the countdown is finally on for me! When I first came on this site January seemed so far away and every time one of you left for Cuba I was sooo excited for you and so jealous too! We fly out Jan 30. We wanted to leave earlier but the doctor convinced me to stay until Laritza is 8 weeks old. It means I will be missing a few parties we were supposed to attend the week of the 21st....but the good news is...I got our flight for $65 plus taxes( $355 all in). ANNNDDD My mom may be able to come for the week to help me with all the luggage I will be bringing. I am a lil scared to deal with all of the bags and the baby. Needless to say I have been feeling great the last couple of days. Filled with hope and anticipation. ALSO.....I went online on boxing day and ordered 15 shirts and 6 pants/shorts for gifts in cuba...all for $114 shipping in! It was a steal!

OK ladies and the one gentleman (not sure if he has been on recently ) I send you big hugs and lots of positivity. The next big event to happen here is Dbl's hubby will go Jan 7 for get his visa...oh he will have an interview too...but that is just a formality. I send you extra positive thoughts during this waiting period Dbl and because you have such amazing positive posts!!! thanks for that!
