RFMO....thank you so much!!! It has been awesome having him here. He is fitting in quite nicely. Went and bought a rice cooker today and some good rice (not my minute rice ) and some black beans.....tomorrow he cooks cause I have to go to work!!! And today.....I almost fainted....I was up early putting on spaghetti sauce and emptying the dishwasher and stuff and was letting Yoani sleep in and anyway heard him up and in the bathroom and went into the bedroom and to my surprise the bed was made....and properly......little things like that mean and help so much!!!!

So the lady at immigration told him to come back next week and she should have it ready, not 100% guaranteed for next Monday, but should be sometime next week!! Woo hoo.
Now we just need to deal with a few other loose ends, but 3 weeks or so an he should be here!!!

I am so close to submitting my application. But still need to work on some things. One of them is figuring out whether I need the divorce paper for a previous marriage that my husband had. It seems (inexplicably to me) that submitting our marriage certificate is not sufficient, but that we also need to prove that he was divorced before he married me.


Has anyone being in this situation that one of you had a previous marriage? And did you have to submit proof of the divorce (original or copy?)

I included both divorce certificates (mine and his). I had his translated into English. Mine was a copy but noterized. I know it doesn't make sense but they want it.

Hubby finally submitted his paperwork for the PRE on Friday.
The girl told him 30 days to pick it up (Havana)
But she told him to come back on Monday because the lady who can make it move faster will be in the office and can give us a proper date. I told him to bring her soap, perfume and chocolates lol.
So tomorrow ill have the date.
I'm hoping for December 3rd, but hubby does have a few loose ends to tie up so hopefully everything will go smoothly with that and he will be here the 3rd!!

Hi Shuster2210 I hope and pray for Mr. Shuster2210 will be landing the 03rd of December. Not too far away now. Hang in there XO I have not heard anything yet from Havana.Hopefully soon. 8 weeks today since I was approved to sponsor.

Hi everyone! Oh what a crazy weekend ive had! got all the floors changed and had to clean everything up yesterday and today and put everything back!!

KJG--So happy for you!! And he makes the bed!! awesome! lol

I have not heard anything from Havana yet, guess the 9th didnt bring me good luck! lol My bestie gave birth on the 8th in the end... but to a beautiful 7.7 lb baby boy! went to the hospital to visit and hes the cutest little thing ever! Really hoping to hear something this week!! At this point Ive passed KJG's phone call day, but still before Luvcuba and Shuster. Wouldnt mind if they called late but we had no interview tho like Shuster! Hubby has had his phone glued to him and it rang the other day and he jumped so high he dropped a paintbrush in the dirt! lol It was just his neighbor tho...

How have all you ladies been!? Luvcuba, any news on ur end? Shuster what about PRE? I hope the change doesnt delay us to past Jan 13th.... keeping fingers crossed! xox

Hi Ladies; sorry been MIA. No news yet on visa. :'(
They posted Medical Received yesterday; so I guess they had sent it off to Ottawa to be reassessed and they got it back. It was to expire this month so this is good.
Lets hope we all hear something soon.
I have booked my next trip for Dec 8 - 15 at least I have that to look forward to.

I too have been MIA. I am in my last week at work (Thursday is my last day) and have been super busy.

Avana...nope no Stage one yet. It looks like everyone in October before my week and everyone a week after my week have received their approvals. DDG suggested that a batch was sent to Ottawa ?! LOL I do not know what that means. But I figured well whatever I was letting it stress me...now why bother...when the website says they are working on Oct 11 or later I will call. Avana...please pass on my congrats to your bestie on her lil man. A baby is such a blessing!

No news yet for anyone from Havana?! What is going on?! I am sending you all positive thoughts and wish for you to be filled with a sense of calm...and not anxiousness : ) I guess the good news is most of you will be back to see your men next month!!! Woooo Hooo!

About the divorce certificate...I had to send mine...I had the original notarized and I just gave my ex husbands last known address. How is everything else going on the application?

Shuster....great news the PVE is moving along....I will keep checking so I can keep our lil spreadsheet looking colourful : )

Hola Everyone!!!!

So when files get sent to Ottawa it is because they are getting backlogged in Mississauga.......so they just pick a group and ship them off.....that is why the dates are crazy sometimes and why CIC lands up working in different months and not in order!!!

With processing time down to 42 days ladies I am thinking Havana will be slower in contacting you as the files leave Canada faster and land up sitting that much longer in Havana.......not sure which is worse.....

But the good news is there is movement in Havana so as long as we know apps are being processed that is a good thing!!!

Panorama....divorce certificates must be included to prove that your marriage is legal.....for both you and he if necessary!!! I was married twice before and had to submit both certificates.....what a pain that was let me tell you!!!

Avana....praying that you will hear soon.

Luvcuba....your day is coming and all will be well....you are just taking the long road but the end result is worth it for sure!!!

Today we went and got Yoani's SIN card and opened a bank account as well as registered with the New Canadian Centre. Next week he has an appointment with an employment counsellor and can start an advanced english class for grammar.....so he is feeling good right now and things are progressing. We had some snow this morning and he was like Baby....is that ....is that....snow!!! It was awesome to see his face. We figured out his coffee of choice at timmies is a double double and today was McDonalds!!! He is enjoying every minute of it. My boys are getting along fine with him and honestly it has not been to much of a transition period!! So far so good!!! He is cold though and I think my heating bills will be higher this year!!!!
