Holy poopers thats fast!! lol It was 83 when I applied!

it was 53 days when I applied and jumped to over 90 days within two weeks after me applying...hence my four month wait for approval!! but I can say that now without being ticked off cause Havana was fast!!!

I will. Everyone send me your timelines I know they are already on here...but send em again so I do not have to go searching. Gonna go start now....I was calculating my timeline this afternoon...started to get excited...then remembered Just tell yourself 1 year in total...then anything better than that is a bonus

Just getting online now, worked a long long day. Have 2 more! LOL was reading along the forum to catch up, and when the spreadsheet was thought up, I initially thought, Sassylassie will do it! Then kept reading and sure enough she stepped up!! haha ...

Love the idea... I'll have something to take parliment if I'm waiting to too long ... haha

Double Rainbow, that's great we are close! I have issues though, I have to get the medical repeated for my step daughter, and I need to pay the 490 right of residency fee...

I didn't know I could pay the fee upfront, was misadvised. Should I pay that now, or wait for them request too. Can I pay it there? Hmmm.. I have tons of questions to expidite that now.

Can't believe Step 1 moved so fast! That's great! I guess they have more time on thier hands since they biffed all the Skilled Worker Applications...When I applied was 69 days, and Ottawa did mine.

Night all! Have a good weekend! I can not wait for it to be over haha It's all work for me. Time flys by though, almost November !!

I love KJG's idea of creating a table to track everyone's progress and for comparison purposes. It is a great idea! And thank you sassylassie for volunteering to work on it

I haven't applied yet but as soon as I do I will let you know.

Just today I read in the news that there is a new immigration law implemented on Oct 25th of this year. Because of it, people arriving to Canada through this family class sponsorship (spouses) will be granted a temporary residence valid for two years. At the end of the two years, the couple will have to prove that they have maintained a legitimate relationship and then the immigrant will be granted permanent residence.

They say this is to protect Canadians who are being used as a means to immigrate into the country, but I have my doubts that this measure will reduce or prevent fraud.

This new law only affects those who submitted their application on Oct 25th and after.

I always get nervous when I hear or read of new changes but this one does not affect any one of us. But it is good to know about all changes.

DDG....pay the $490 right away if you can....pay on line and the email, fax and mail the receipt to mississauga. You can also email the receipt to Havana...they will put in file but they won't mark as paid until they receive confirmation....do it now so it does not delay your application in the future.....
