Double Rainbow....welcome aboard....well on your way in Stage 2.....awesome!!!!! Just a little tidbit....the AOR usually comes after the file is complete..or there has been communication already with Havana.. We got our DND letter on September 17th..but they had already called and booked our interview on August 29th...for Oct 4th so it was anti-climatic!!!!!

Hello everyone. One little issue before they will issue the visa; but this is fixable. He needs to provide one more birth certificate then they will issue him his visa. Of course I told him to take a copy with him, but he said they didn't ask me to bring it". Men.......

So it's a yes once they receive this. They did give him back the whole package which is good. Officer asked lots of questions. Even the photos who was who.

He's on his way back to Cardenas now; I suggested he fax the birth certificate in. Now I'm wondering if he took it in person; they will issue the visa then.

Nothing was said about the medical so????

Am i the next one in the forum who should statistically hear? (based on transfer dates i mean?) oooh that makes me anxious....lol

Had a CRAZY freaking (dont wanna get censored--sassy--lol) day today! Did not even have one minute to myself alllll day! I wanted to come back and check the news but didnt get to till now! Now i have to cook and majorly do some laundry... UGH lol

Hubby finally got power back but spent all day clearly fallen trees and stuff. everything was a disaster! but at least everyone was safe!

ppsandy is it you whos hubby is in guantanamo?? everything ok there??

hope everyone had a fab thursday and tomo is friday! lets hope havana keeps on working, and then we all have a relaxing weekend!

Yes it is me. Everything is fine but one house in complete diaster. no electicity yet. He said it could take days however his mom has a wooden stove so they are good for the cooking. He said the storm has past! Lucky me this storm is named after me. Thanks for asking and I am glad your hubby and family are also safe

I've been here, I'm reading along, but keeping my mouth shut until my dark days pass. I've been full of too much negativity to say much. I've been really sad and missing everything about Cuba, not just the hubby. Sometimes I feel like I can't breathe in our culture. Like it's too fast, too dog eat dog, and just lonely. My husband and I made plans for me to go back in August and that didn't happen, bc my son started to mentally break down (how does one save her son, while quietly breaking down herself? haha) I would like to just go there and forget everything here, but I can't. Have my ticket to go back December 17, it has cheered me up The son has gone to Calgary to be with his Dad until Jan, then returning to school. (Yay!!...was so worried he wouldnt go back!) SO I'm feeling positive again!! I kept getting my hopes up along the way too, thinking I could squeeze a week or a few days in, but it never happened. Is too much money from here. Don't feel dissapointed my love, feel so happy that the reason you can't go back is bc you are having his baby!! haha and not bc you are broke!!

Yes, I'll be there for Christmas, I don't know when I'm coming back though....I never book return tickets until I am there and know when I want to leave. It's usually when the money runs out!! jaja!!

That is awesome that you can do that DDG.....the longest I have been able to spend at one time is 9 days. I am not allowed to take off more than one week at work but someday I will!!!! The good thing is you can stretch a dollar there that is for sure!!!!!

I work in a casual position so that I can take time off when I want. The downside is my pays are not always full time and I suffer .... lol I really need to take a position again, but trying so hard not to until he his here. I want to be able to go to the interview. In my profession, they couldn't care less why I wanted a week off, I wouldn't get it. Politics in healthcare is the worst.

I'm hoping I dont' have to make many more trips. What seems to be the timeline for getting interviews?? I'm hoping I only have to go back one more time for a month, but I think that's being too optimistic!!

Thank gawd everyones family is ok. Crappy about cleaning all the damage though. I spoke to my hubby mid day today...he was very tired...he seems to always get stuck on the island at the resort when these storms hit calming tourists. And this time the manager cut all the guests' booze off so they were pissed. I would be too. lol But I understand the safety aspect of it.
And he was up till 3am putting sunbeds into the pools : ) this concept always makes me smile.
