you can not pre-apply for a PRE...so don't even worry about it at this stage but every province is different....apparently Matanzas is a fast one...I guess we will find out.....some of the more eastern provinces Camguey, Holguin take a lot longer :(
Oh ok thankyou then. Good to know. :D

Hello Havana ladies!

Happy Tuesday....someone from Oct 5th received their AOR today. I am actually getting scared at how fast this is moving :o

Panarama....how is the app coming along...Not sure if you are actually reading the posts these days or just have your head in you paperwork! Good luck!

Everyone come outta the storm ok? My area have very little damage.

I called the CIC center today to find out about my fees. I'm paying them online and Miss will notify Havana, I'm not to contact them. If I have an issue in Havana them saying it's not paid, and it's down to having his Visa, they said to call the Center right there, and have a copy of my receipt on me.

He was nice so I asked him a few questions....he told me that adding info your file should not have a difference in processing times. He said for the cases he does, it doesn't and in fact adding more info could prevent an interview. He told me that it is better to have submitted so much in the beginning, and is why they recommend being married a year before applying. I did that, so here's hoping it works in my favor! I'm not going to add anything until they ask, but wouldn't it be nice to avoid waiting for interview......for Havana, though, I think the interview is pretty standard.

He also told me that the 3 pile of applicants in the office, can not be right, bc the files are opened in Miss by a VO and a chain of command starts. It's carried by person in a breif case to the embassy and assigned and handed over to the VO in Havana. He said files don't sit around in piles waiting to be picked up by a VO and processed. It's the VO that is fast or slow with his/her assigned cases.

I can't wait to know if Shuster heard anything this week......my fingers are crossed.

Hmmm That is all very interesting info. Nice that he was willing to answer your questions...and not rush you off the phone. Do you feel better about the fee? Do you have to pay the $490 twice (for hubby and daughter? )

It worries my a lil about the suggestion of waiting a year after marriage to apply. But I am not sure we could have...we really need to be together for our daughter.

i do not understand what this means...what is the 3 pile of applicants?
Sorry ??? doh!

Has anyone used Smart Transfer with Tran$card??? Sine CT is down and Duales is only home delivery and I don't want to use the bank cause of the ridiculous charges on both ends....I found this one. It says they just need their ID but I want to know if anyone has used them and they are ok???

Someone suggested them to me on here. The process is long.....
So you sign up on the website...then you have to mail to their head office in Markham an original copy of your ID
"Authenticated by a guarantor from a list of specific professions" and a letter from your bank. They will let you do one transfer without having the originals in their hand if you email a scanned copy to them. But you cannot send until your beneficiary has an accoutn with them.

The second part is hubby needs to get a card/account, there are two ways, you can request the card for him, it will take a min of 15 days before he can go pick the card up or I was told he could go right into the office with his cuban ID to get the card. Except when my husband called the office in Santa Clara....they said no he cannot just come in...I have to order the card and he has to wait 15 days.

We started the process last week...as I wanted to send some money for his birthday this Sat. No luck he will not get his first transfer until mid November.

That being said...Julieta at the Toronto office is very nice and replies to emails very fast. I have been told that after this initial set up process the transfers happen within a couple hours.

If you want a copy of the specific requirements...let me know...I will PM them to you...it is long :)

holy moly......the website says they don't need a card as long as they have their ID......and that I can do an email transfer to them....okay...well I have emailed them and will wait and see what they say......thanks Sassy......:(

OMG guys today i am at work and REALLY have no motivation to do anything productive. I am tired....and just want to go home to watch mindless tv. All I am doing is trolling this site reading posts in other threads...this is sad really sad.

Duales is not a home delivery. You must order a card as well and I believe it takes a couple of days

I use these most of the time. I deal directly with Julieta. Etransfer my funds to an account and hubby has within 2-3 hours.
