I know exactly how you're feeling! I'm feeling very hopeless at this point :( seeing everyone get their visa or atleast a call by 5 months and now it's been 6 months since my AOR and still nothing... I don't know why they are taking so long with our case when no concerns are indicated on the GCMS notes I received... Sooo frustrating!
It took 8 months for us, and we only got the visa last week, so you should be hearing something soon! Wishing you the best!!

Has anyone's spouse had an issue with Cuban police certificates? The first one we sent was clean no issues , we had to get a second one to be proactive as we know the first one will soon expire. The second one came back with a criminal offence on it. We knew that was a mistake as my husband was with me at a resort at the the time of the offence and could not have committed it. So he went to Havana police station to get it corrected we still do not have the new one back after they dedicided it was a mistake. This has been going on since Sept . Any advice would help.

7 Month wait! tip to toe! Good Luck EVERYONE!
Everyone's process takes different time, usually a clean cut case will be 5 month in Havana - but it may take a few extra months if the investigation is more complicated.

Havana actually looks into all their applicants... they family, friends if they go out - who the assosiate themselves with... sometimes it just takes a little longer IF its harder for them to get answers. Not necessarily bad... just complicated. Remember its like a job resume, they have to check to make sure everything you said is correct!

:)

best of luck everyone.... this week will be 2 months my hubbys been here! trust me... once you get the VISA all that pain ans suffering goes away!! all the best!!

Hi, everyone. I only found this forum now after submitting our application on March 23 (arrived). I'll dig through more, but is there a Cuba spreadsheet? I 3> numbers.

I am tired of travelling to Cuba from the maritimes every two months I have know my husband for 6 years now and married since Sept 2013 and our application has been in the system since July 2014 I have spent 6 months in 2013 /2014 in Cuba at a Casa This year it is 6 weeks My suitcase is only on packed to do the laundry. Our application was transferred to Havana Jan 6,2015 I am wondering if I could live with him until he gets his PR at his house and what I would need to do that as 25 cuc plus food is a little too much and we could put that money into his home in Cuba. I know Canadian's can stay there for 3 months on a tourist visa as I have done that at a Casa but what are the rules otherwise.
I spent most of last year in Cuba with my wife. I am only back now to do our immigration application.
Canadians can stay in Cuba for 6 months (3+3). If you are on a tourist visa, you need to stay at a CUC casa or hotel. However, for 40cuc, you can get an A2 family visa and live in the family home.

You need to get this within 72 hours of arrival. You'll need your wedding certificate, spouse, your passport and their carjeta de inidentidad. If you go first thing in the morning, it will be most of the day waiting. However, if you show up around 2:30 to 3:00 the queue should be mostly gone.

In the middle of your third month, you need to go for an extension. If I am remembering right, it's 40cuc first time and 25cuc for the extension. Let me know if you need more details.

My husband worked at Club Amigo and once he told them he was marrying a non Cuban he lost his position apparently that is the procedure. We were married at Brisas but we could have been married at Club Amigo if we wanted to as I was paying for the wedding I had the deciding vote lol. We had to be in Cuba for 3 days before the wedding to meet with and pay the lawyer that performs the official . There is a lot of paper work to be prepared before you even get to Cuba Wise to contact the wedding planner at the resort as they can tell what is required. All documents must be approved and translated to Spanish in Canada by the Canadian consulate and the Cuban consulate in Canada The cost was around 1500 in Canada and the Cuban part 750cuc and then the cost of the Hotel wedding Total was around 5000 by the time we were married .
For the record, you can pay 100cuc and get everything done the same day. I got married at Brisas as well (Playa de Santa Lucia?). We were going to get married at Caracol, but my sister had already told all my family to book into Brisas.

When during the process did you receive your original documents back? I'm mostly worried about the marriage certificate. I called CIC about it, but obviously the answer changes upon the person I talk to.
Our file has been in Havana for about 2 months.

I. Have only seen posts on here where they give back pictures if you have an interview in Havana. Maybe someone who has had an interview can tell you if they got documents back. I did not send original marriage certificate only a certified copy and translation.

How come you didn't send an original when in the guide they said that they requested originals for Havana?
Maybe I did a mistake by sending the original one..

The only original required was the police certificate.

In the guide it said to send originals of all documents unless otherwise instructed. Since they didn't mention anything about photocopy of the marriage certificate I sent the original.
It doesn't even matter anymore at this point, I just want to have my papers back...

DO YOU HAVE Aor and SA yet? Maybe you can call tomorrow and ask CIC if they know if after visa is requested if you can get the original marriage certificate back. I know we got two when we were married . I also understand that you can get a second one at a cost in Cuba from the notary.
