Have you received the police certificate already? Do they have to be translated by the cuban embassy or can any lawyer do that?

Thanks

Hi,
I know...
My husband did his medical back in February, it was fast and was free.
Which is the address in Havana for teh medical to be done. Can you please elaborate? Thankyou in advance :D

The following Panel Physicians are available in this country - ordered by city:

City: la Habana
Name: Medical Team Cuba
Address: Hospital Docente Dr. Enrique Cabrera (Hospital Nacional),
Calzada de Aldabo No 1117,
Esq E Altahabana,
Boyeros,
Telephone: (53 7) 6471178
Spoken Languages: Spanish

▼ Medical exam instructions

Your own doctor cannot perform the medical exam. You must see a doctor on the list of panel physicians.

The panel physician will perform a complete medical exam and may refer you for chest x-rays and laboratory tests. Once your exam has been completed, the physician will send the results to CIC.

The panel physician does not make the final decision about your medical exam. CIC makes that decision. If there is a problem with your medical exam, the visa office will contact you in writing.

When you go to your appointment, you must bring:

•proper identification (you will need at least one document your photograph and signature, such as a passport, driver’s licence or national identity card)
•eye glasses or contact lenses, if you wear them
•any medical reports or test results that you have regarding to previous or existing medical conditions, and
•the Medical Report form (IMM 1017E), if you do not undergo an up-front medical exam. The visa office will send you this form.

My understanding is that spouses, dependant children of Canadians and refugees do not require any form for the medical as per CIC.

Hi

That is correct It is done electronically make sure you get the receipt to send with application from Doc to send with application to CIC. That is what CIC uses to get to access the result when we pay the $1040 fees

In Toronto, the Cuban Consulate recommended me a really nice guy that works in a Lawyers office, Ramses...he can translate and Notarize all the documents, he did my paperwork for the wedding and for the sponsorship... He is not expensive at all...

Hi

No we are waiting for Medical and marriage certificate and then the certiifcate has to be translated and notarized.

One thing you do not need to notarize the documents in Cuba, I was told you have to send the marriage certificate to Havana to the foreign affairs, that's not true.... Last week I got an e-mail from the Embassy in Havana asking for a little paper, it will be 4 months since we submitted the paperwork this week.

hi

I am using the information on the sponsorship website

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/index.asp

and when you send them the application they want all documents translated into English sure wish this was not the case.

You can get the translations completed at the New Life Mennonite Centre (Keele/Wilson area in Toronto) for $10/per page donation

Hi

My husband is from Banes and he had his police certificate done in Holguin. My understanding is that Nov is booked in Havana for Med and both are free. I think it is best to call Havana about Meds as that is what my husband is planning to do. We are waiting for marriage certificate I printed all the sheets from the CIC web and he is filling out those and having pictures done They need 4 for Meds and it is done electronically by the Panel Doc when you tell them it is Family Sponsorship

Good Morning,

the Fees for the Medical are 405 CUCs for people 13 yrs and up, and 205 CUCs for children 12 years and under
the Medicals are now done over 2 days (Fri/Sat)

FYI, people from Holguin province are requested to phone on Fridays only to make the appt. November/December are now booked.

Hope this helps

Hi

I am getting flickting information on cost. I am told there is no cost other then the fees paid for the application in Family Sponsorship. And that you go to Havana and wait with no appts. I am going to Guardalavaca Nov 25 and was hoping to go to Havana then with my husband.

Unfortunately there is a fee for the Medical - when your spouse contacts the Hospital to make the appointment it will be explained, the fees are paid at Banco Metropolitiano in Havana 405 CUCs
