If anybody is wondering, I spoke with my lawyer and she stated to me that, if you see " your medical results have been received" on your cic site, then after that all you can do is just wait for the call from the embassy in Cuba. That cic site has nothing to do with us anymore.

ahh thats what mine says medical results have been received so im just waiting on the waiting game!! obv from the moment they tranferred your file to cuba cic has nothing to do with us, any question or concerns about ur application you gonna email the embassy but you can always check cic website with your spouse name and UCI ,even thoe im more than sure that cubans never take time to update the status but yeh i heard of ppl saying that when they change your spouse address on cic to your address in canada it can mean they are ready to issue thier visas ;) im always cheking just in case lol

Is that the address that is under "Your current mailing address?" Because that address says my lawyers address right now, not hers or mine.

I think that she's right. Once the file is in Havana, we can only wait. I checked many many forums and so far, it looks like we can expect news 3-4 months after the file has been received in Havana. In your case, I think it's safe to say that we might expect news from early July to August. They got LiaJoi's package 3 weeks after you and got mine 1,5 weeks after LiaJoi's package.

I expect to see things moving for me around August-September...before that would be more than perfect.

I communicate with my wife mostly with SMS, but because I think I sent too much SMS, they blocked my phone from sending SMS to my wife.
I really hope that this situation will come back to normal very soon. I use Rebtel to call her and send SMS now, while I wait to be able to send unlimited
SMS with my Bell Cell phone again.

They can try to block my sms as long as they want, but they'll never stop me from loving her. I'll be back in Cuba in 6 weeks and I just can't wait for that moment again !

It's long wait, but my love for her is stronger every day. Keep the faith and all the best !

Current mailing address is normal to be your lawyer's address right now, because you must have signed the use of representative and put your lawyer there.

They should put your address to the residential address when they'll be close to give the visa I think

No problem, we are here to help each others ! of course, I wrote 3-4 months but it could be little less or little more. Before January 2013,
it was taking around 90+ days for phase 1 approval + 1 month transferring the file.

Now we got stage 1 approval in 25 days approx and 13 working days after I got AOR from Havana ! So it's much faster now as I can see.

Nothing's fast enough these day, but we'll get there...

I'm going to be starting this process in the fall after we get married and I am wondering if you can give me an idea of what the immigroup is charging you to help you through this process. And if you do the majority of the work if it brings the cost down a little?

To marry a Cuban citizen in Cuba, you must obtain several documents that should be authenticated by the Cubanauthorities in Canada. As discussed over the phone, given your sitatuation, you must provide your Canadian passport, birth certificate, and sign a single status declaration or affidavit.
Our office will deal directly with the Cuban authorities on your behalf and get your final documents ready for your marriagein Cuba. The process can take three weeks from the time they are submitted to the Cuban authorities. Our service fee for this process starts at $950 plus 5% GST, not including disbursements.

Disbursements include:
Fees levied by the Cuban Consulate: $744
Translations and notarizations: $150+gst
Courier/ other: $100+gst
We require the balance of our service fee and disbursements to be paid before we submit the documents to the Cuban Consulate.
Your birth certificate and single status affidavit need to be notarized by a notary public or a lawyer. please send me the following information so I will prepare and send you the affidavit by email. You need to print it out, take it to a notary public or lawyer and sign it in front of them. The notary public or lawyer will then sign and stamp the affidavit. Note: It is valid for 6 months from the date you sign this affidavit. This means that you must marry within 6 months of signing this affidavit otherwise you have to prepare another one.
The information I need is:
§ complete name as it appears on your passport and birth certificate (if they are different, please let me know. If you are using a different name than the one that appears on your birth certificate, for example: maiden/married name or middle name that does not appear on your passport.)

§ date of birth

§ place of birth

§ complete address

§ phone number

§ whether you are currently "single" (nevermarried) or "divorced"

§ expected date of your upcoming marriage in Cuba

Once you have notarized the affidavit and birth certificate, please send then along with a copy of your valid passport by express post or courier to my attention at the address below. We will commission the translations into Spanish and all the necessary legalizations on your behalf. Processing times are 1-2 weeks from time we receive above documents. Here is the break-down of the fees including both our service fees and the government fees for your sponsorship application:

- Legal fees in total $3333.50 ($2950 + hst)

You have paid $800 as deposit. The balance of $2533.50 is due before submission of your application.

- Government fees in total $1,040 ($550 processing fees + $490 landing fees)

The processing fees of $550 must be paid when the application is submitted. The landing fees of $490 can be paid later upon request by Immigration. However, I recommend to pay the landing fees upfront if you are financially capable. This way, your application won't be delayed due to immigration verifying the payment of your landing fees.

So, in total, an amount of $3573.50 is due before submission of your application.

I hope this will help you out, this is the break down of what my representative sent me. It is a little costly but it is well worth it because it help me not to worry about it amd it is all being done properly.
