I've got an Expression of Interest nomination certificate from Ontario. Recently, I got an ITA for the Express Entry.
I'm planning to apply for PR through express entry as it's a fast process. There's a question in the Nomination & Selection section that "Has xxx received a nomination certificate from a province?"

I'm confused now are they talking about Express Entry nomination or any other also? As in my case do I need to select Yes or No in this field?

Do not be confused, simply READ the documents that you have. On the face (front) of the nomination certificate it will say whether or not it can be used for express entry. Here is another tip, if you did not use your entry entry profile info during the OINP, then the nomination is not express entry. If you did they would use your profile info and add the 600 points to it.

Oh yeah, they clearly stated on the nomination letter that "Please note this nomination is not valid for Express Entry."
Thanks, it's clear now. I'll select No for my answer in the express entry application.

This is true, but what they're asking is "Has xxx received a nomination certificate from a province?" not "Has xxx received a nomination certificate for express entry purposes from a province?"

Although the nomination certificate is not for express entry, it's still a nomination certificate. If you put down "no", I can't tell if there's a risk of misrepresentation because that's technically what they're asking. But if you put down yes it's gonna get you another 600 points you shouldn't claim. That's what get people confused.
