HAS FAMILY IN CANADA - eligibility question

Hello All,

Can I be eligible to the 'has family in Canada'? I am here on temporary work permin and blessed a with baby a month ago. Now I am planning to apply for immigration.

'has family in Canada' means :
You, or your accompanying spouse or common-law partner, have a relative (parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, child of a parent, sibling, child of a grandparent, aunt or uncle, or grandchild of a parent, niece or nephew) who is residing in Canada and is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

If you are eligible for immigration, I guess you will get your 5 points for adaptability.

thanks PMM, planning to apply while I am still working here in Canada...
also, I have enough eligible points with Basic English Proficiency (2 pts). Do I need to give IELTS or just skip the test and provide support documents to prove my efficiency. I am an IT conultant and my day-to-day duties demands to use English as the only communication lang.
