Hi All,

I would appreciate any clarification from people who have gone through the situation or know someone who has.

I applied for PR through CEC in May 2014 and was asked to submit medicals in DEC 2014 which I have done the same month itself.

E-CAS status shows

  • Application received on May 5
  • Medical results have been received

I resigned from work soon after submitting PR application and was doing other work and is now in my home country since last November. I am planning to enter Canada in April 2015.

MY work permit and visa expires in July 2015 and my question is, Can I apply for BOWP without a job offer in April ?

Thanks to all in advance for replying.

Bridging OPEN Work Permit. It's not connected to employment because it's open; you don't need to be employed.

You simply need:
(1) To be in Canada when you apply.
(2) To have less than four months left on your current work permit.
(3) Have your AOR.

I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be granted a BOWP, best of luck :-)
