I'm doing the application and expecting 50/50 odds especially that my home country is on the ban list (syria)

has anyone had it granted to him?
 
Also looks that you were originally in the US and had likely filed for asylum and probably walked across the border so that would be another reason for a refusal.

No need to be rude. You stated that you were concerned about being denied due to being on the banned country list not the fact that you had claimed asylum in the US and the walked across the border without going to a legal border crossing. Both issues will likely lead to a refusal but you never know.

Truth is, I just don't like you dude.
since you don't have an actual "experience" applying for US visa with the circumstances i mentioned, your negativity adds nothing to the discussion, its just that, negativity.

No i actually don't like that dude. Condescending and obnoxious and obsessed with the forum.

I'm not counting on an acceptance nor I'm looking for an opinion as it is up the officer to decide. I just want someone to share past experience

Not sure why you insist on calling me dude that is rude and obnoxious. Based on previous examples those who have crossed by foot through irregular border crossing or have used their tourist visas to land in the US then claim asylum have been refused. Every case is different. Using my spare time to answer immigration questions versus surfing the web, playing video games or watch tv is so obnoxious of me:rolleyes:
