Hi

Can someone please let me know if someone submitted their old ECA ref number without "IMM" suffix from 2014 or earlier and completed process without issues?

I'm asking this based on another user's thread where his application got refused as CIC wasn't able to access his WES report.

I'm having a similar situation and got AOR 2 days back.

Please help

In my opinion, I don't think it should be a problem since ECA reports are valid for 5 years. Did you order a duplicate ECA Report to be sent to MCIIT?

What is MCIIT?

They are the ones who issue Provincial Invitations/Nominations for Ontario province, and known more famously by the acronym of OINP (now) or OONP (earlier).

It stands for Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration and International Trade under which Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program is managed.

Ohkk.. My application comes under FSW Outland.

Over on the login page:

https://www.wes.org/appstatus/indexca.aspx

"If you have a WES Canada educational credential assessment issued in the past five years, it is valid for CIC purposes."

I'm trying to review my report information from 2013, but there's not really any indication it's for CIC, though I ordered the ECA for immigration/FSW.

CIC website also says that if we have ECA evaluated in last 5 years, we should be good.
They also suggest to attach copy of WES, in case they are not able to check in WES.

If you can quote a link on the CIC website that says 5 year ECA is ok, then I would a paragraph explaining this and the link to the official CIC page, in your Letter of Explanation when you submit your docs? Just in terms of covering yourself. No professional advice, just my guess/opinion.

Alternatively, how much is it for you to do the WES again?
If you are still concerned, how much is the application worth to you as if you can afford it, maybe worth doing it again just in case?

As a side note, in general, unless its clearly and quotably on the official CIC website, then everything else is black box, none knows what happens behind the closed doors, we can only guess, so I would always air on the side of caution.

I have already submitted my application.
