I know few people who got the application done by Consultants. But they said that they cannot be of any help in getting job or settling down.

Beware...Some consultants might give false promises on jobs. Stay away from such ppl.

If you have time, I would suggest you to get it done yourself since all the information is available in this forum and is fairly simple.

IMO there's absolutely no need to hire consultant for PR application unless your personal situation is complicated and may have legal implications, in which case you might want to hire an immigration lawyer

Nope, there is no need for a consultat unless you are in a complicated situation where you need their legal guidance. Also be aware that you wont even be able to access your file if you use them as they wont share it with you and all updates will go through them, which could be quite frustrating.
They in no way can give you better chances of finding a job. And housing is few clicks away, everything is online now, from hotels to b&b's to long term housing, its all available and accessible to everyone everywhere.

I was looking for agents to help in finding job in Canada and post landing activities.
All the best...Do let us know in case you come across such agents...:)
