Has anyone that is currently living outside of Canada gotten a COPR lately?

I am asking because my AOR is more than a year ago and I still have yet to receive one for myself.

I've heard the rumor that the CIC has not been granting COPRs to those who are living outside of Canada because COPR holders are NOT exempt from the ongoing travel restrictions.

If anyone could share your experiences, I'd be super grateful.

Thank you for sharing!
May I ask when your AOR was and if you can or cannot travel to Canada right now?
You are always welcome!
If I am not mistaken, then my AOR was July 2019, COPR received on 9th of FEB 2021.

And no, I cannot travel to Canada right now, unfortunately.

Let me know if you’ll have any other questions I can check for you.

Thank you so much for your reply:)

Oh wow you have waited for a long time! My AOR is March 2020, and I was about to get a mental breakdown because of the uncertainty.

Do you have one year period on your COPR? Hopefully the travel restrictions will be lifted soon for you to land in Canada!

It was a long way for sure, but worth it :)
My suggestion: Don't get it too much over your head. You can't do anything to speed up the process or have any influence on it, so the only thing left is to wait. Try to submit all requested documents and letters as soon as possible and stay positive :)

Regarding the period: No, it's valid till November 2021, so basically 9 months. I am certain that there will be some improvement regarding travel rules, but again, as long as we cannot influence the process - the only thing left is to wait.

Hi there:)

As frustrating as it has been, it's true there's nothing more I can do about the ongoing slow processing.

But I am surprised that your COPR doesn't have one year. Is there a specific reason why it's good for 9 months only? So if the travel restrictions are still in place in Nov and your COPR expires, you should be able to ask for an extension, right?

The COPR document expires together with the expiry of our medical reports.
I received by COPR last year, which was set to expired this coming July. IRCC emailed me last month to inform me that they would automatically extend the validity of my document when they are ready (i.e. travel restrictions are lifted), without having me go through the whole application process again.

Thank you for your insight! I've heard that the COPR's expiration date corresponds with that of the medical exam. But given the current slow service, can you imagine that they would be able to process the expired COPRs as quickly as everyone hopes...? I hope there won't be delay for that.
