Has anyone ever had employment confirmation call during EE?

I am wondering if anyone has ever had their employer answer phone call from visa office (or government) confirming your experience's job duty, title, hour etc during CEC inland ?

this is my current situation.
*passed medical (MEP)
*open work permit
*single applicant
*only work experience is about 1+year in Canada

I have passed my medical and want to quit the current job. But since I am from a country that lots of people have suffered from 'bad' employers, it makes me feel worried about the possibility of my employer getting confirmation calls and answering with not the duties on the record of employment that he gave me.

what would be the possibility? has anyone ever got such a phone call or document request?

This has been reported by a number of people. Employers have been contacted for information and have not always responded in the way that the applicant has been hoping for.

IRCC are always on the lookout for fraudulent documentation, fake jobs and the like.

thanks for the reply.. I guess I have to stick with this one till i get landing.. or do u think it would be good after i get CoPR?
As long as your Canadian experience employer confirms your employment, there's no need to stay with an employer. If you have concerns that they may try to retaliate if you quit, wait for the COPR.

As long as your Canadian experience employer confirms your employment, there's no need to stay with an employer outside Canada if they are not contributing to your eligibility.
in my case Canadian Experience employer is from the country I described above(that is, same country as me) and the company is in Canada.

Does CIC call and check with the employer in each and every case ? Or depends on a case to case basis ? Any idea anyone ?

And I wonder if the employer just says that "yes, such and such person was in such and such position", would that be enough ? Because, they wont be remembering all the details that they had written in the letter. So would CIC read it out on the call or write the email of the exact lines mentioned in the letter ? Any help please!

Yeah, I reread the thread and updated my post. Sorry, I got confused for a moment.

I don't think so. They would check if they were suspicious, either about the applicant OR the employer.

I think this is more myth than fact. I highly doubt that CIC calls employers to verify. Instead as with the CRA I find it more likely they will just reject your application if there in any doubt about you or your application and there have been many threads where this has happened and the GCMS notes never say they called or contacted the employer in these cases. Sometimes they may ask for more documents. If thinks don't add up it ends in a rejection. I just find it hard to believe federal agencies calling employers they don't like to communicate directly these agencies.

Kind of reminds me when I got audited for my taxes. I sent everything in. Waited 4 months. Got another self assessment I missed a few documents so owed a load of money which I paid. Then I had to send all the documents again and the ones I missed. Waited another 4 months and then got the money back.

Anyway my point is they could of just called me or emailed saying we are missing these few documents but instead they just rejected it.

These agencies just don't work in the logical efficient way we all like to think they do.

It happened in my case when I applied for WP as an outland applicant from italy, my gcms notes showed they approached to my employer via contact number on letter head, albeit employer didn't responded, and gcms notes showed comment of visa officer : company doesn't exist.
But based upon provided docs to prove my current xp with that employer, WP got approved, as i attached salary slips, hr ref. Letter, etc...this all happened at backend, embassy neither contacted me nor asked for any ADR, so it's not a myth, and happened in case of WP hence can happen in EE. Although, I got gcms after my WP approved.

It just adds more irregularity to the already inconsistent operations of CIC. I don't think its fair that they should call to verify on one persons application then another they just reject for lack of evidence and another they ask for more documents. There is kind of no fairness in the process and it all seems to come down to dumb luck.

What I believed during my WP application process, is that CIC staff in italian embassy seemed to be bit discriminated about the fact that a foreign national holding a phd degree from italian university, working in italian company as a director, and applying for canadian WP, that's why staff at canadian embassy in rome tried to validate the current experience, albeit my current employers couldn't take the call, or what so ever reason couldn't approached, it took a while in BCG phase, but eventually application of WP got approved, and by the time, it got approved u got gcms with these comments. Nonetheless, regardless of their local and central procedural fairness, we try to provide every doc which can be supportive to our application, and funny thing is they also asked abt my italian resident permit, whuch i aleady provided and evident that i completed phd, having job since 3 years. So 6 yrs of residency enough to prove my legal status in italy...anyways all turned well at the end.

Thank you!It is not a myth.CIC can contact your employers.I have heard of cases where an immigration officer was sent to someone’s workplace to verify.
Yes definitely not and definitely I heard about visits too. It's not random pick but depends upon individual cases, if they have doubt and concern, bcg screening, they have their own ways and agencies to verify the legit.
