Hi guys,
I am in the same situation.
I am permanent resident of canada holding Indian passport and I m travelling to india from Toronto via British Airlines and it has layover of 8 hours at Heathrow airport.
Just want to know if I can exit from the Heathrow airport to meet my friends within those hours and come back to catch my next flight.
Do I need visa or any other important documents so that I can leave the airport?

If you are leaving the airport, you're crossing UK immigration, hence, you would need a visa.

I was checking online at Uk gov website and it says yes I can go outside from the airport and then come back to catch my next flight with some conditions and also according to one person from this forum did the same thing and went outside for couple of hours.

That's nice. I'd still suggest to reach out to UK High Commission and find out in detail what conditions apply to you!
