Hi,
I am just checking my options. I got my BC nomination two weeks ago and about to submit my paper application to Sydney. My open work permit will expire in 11 weeks, and hopefully I will receive AOR before that, but just in case I don't, I wonder how easy is it to get one at the border instead.

My nomination is not employer restricted, so I will be getting another open permit.

Thanks guys

J.

Hello ,
Congratulations you got BC Pnp
1. To receive AOR takes about 1-2 months after you send paper application.

2. I never ever heard issue of BOWP at Port of entry.

3. You can keep working with same employer even your old work permit expires until you receive new open work permit. it is legal and you can work until 90 days while you are on implied status.

4. Send an online application of BOWP instead of paper application . Processing in online application is very fast takes about 30 to 45 days.

Need any help for online application let me know
Good Luck :)

Yes, I extended my work permit at border but it was a Closed Work permit.

I haven't seen anyone getting BOWP at border.

- Also implied status only applies , if you have applied for permit extension before your current permit expires.

You cannot extend open work permit or bridge work permit at the port of entry .Cic does it and you need an aor .You can only extend close work permit at the border provided your employer paid compliance fee

I think you cannot get BOWP at border

Thanks guys!

rajwinder111 - Looking at other peoples timeline, it seems that their processing time is 3 months.

I was told to apply by paper for extension of my Working Holiday permit (which is an automatic rejection) and once I get my AOR apply for BOWP.
I don't think I can apply for BOWP without AOR, since their checklist for PNP asks for AOR, so the system might not allow me to do it anyway.
The thing is that these are two separate offices, so things might get a little confusing for them.
