Is it ok to hand write the application as everyone seems to do it online I don't have a good pc - crashes all the time

the forms that have bar codes and need to be validated must be completed on line the rest you may do by hand.....

there are a couple of forms that have to be validated on line and when they are they produce bar codes the cic can just scan the the contents of the form are downloaded into their system....these barcode forms are required and if you do not have them your application will be sent back as incomplete....

I know what it can be like to get reliable internet access from other countries, or even decent printing. But if you're in Canada there's really no excuse. Go to your nearest library or university library and make your application legible for CIC.. it won't take long and will make everything easier for them, and for you, in the long run.

You can hand write to fill all application forms but it is not recommended.

From CIC Website:

"The best way to fill out your form is on your computer. It's easier to read and process.”

“Some forms include a ‘Validate' button at the top or bottom of the page. If your form has this feature, make sure to click the button once you have completed the form. This will tell you if you've filled out all sections. If you haven't, it will highlight incomplete sections of the form in red.”

You don't have to be online. But some of them have to be done on the computer. Some forms requires bar code. If your computer crashes often, draft it in hand and just fill out on the computer and print, if necessary, page at a time. They change the forms without notice. Always try to see the forms you are using are updated.

Actually, i hand wrote all my forms and i got sponsorship approval with not a problem!........so no they do not need to be completed on a computer......just make sure every question is answered correctly, and double check to make sure nothing is missing and you should be fine!

Do I have type the forms online in Capitals (Capslock)? or normal letters? I would presume its normal letter! but just want to make sure that this is what everyone else has done..

It doesn't matter; you can choose to do it either way.

I don't see the difference....whether u type or handwrite, the same information is going onto it.....like I said, within 2 months I was approved.....the only time I would recommend not handwriting is if u have messy writing, otherwise I was hoping since we're all adults here our writing would b on point by now..... ???

So if we have messy handwriting we're not adults? My handwriting is pretty bad because of being pressured in College and high school to write FAST and my husband has a nerve problem which causes him to shake a little.

OP, I would go to a public library and get them all printed. Then you don't run the risk of pissing off any officers.

OP, I would go to a public library and get them all printed. Then you don't run the risk of pissing off any officers.

This whole topic is a bit silly. Nobody should be writing their forms by hand unless they enjoy taking chances. I don't think other members here should be promoting people to write their forms by hand as though it was okay. You want them to take your application seriously and process it in a timely fashion then do it properly.
