Regarding the processing of 2020 and 2021 applications getting priority, was this also relayed to you by the MP office or a deductive conclusion based on people's timelines from the forum? thanks for taking the time to respond

It was relayed to me by the MP office.They receive lots of requests for Citizenship inquiry and the CIC is blaming COVID. I know someone in the forum requested corporate records from IRCC and below is the link (353 pages).

While I have no clue about how IRCC process applications, I believe it will take 15-18 months to receive (from the day application is received) Citizenship grant. This is just my OPINION and don't take it as a professional advice.

No worries. Apply GCMS and check the status of the application or reach out to the MP office if you really want to know what's happening. My background checks are completed on Mar 9, 2021. Security and Criminality are completed and Passed.

April 2020 applicant from Hamilton, my background check was completed on 11th February and still waiting for the test. Thanks @canuck90 for sharing those stats with us. It gave us a perspective on when our application may get finalized.

Checked the new tracker yesterday and noticed that I have been scheduled for the oath ceremony on August 17th. I have not yet received the official invite. Will let you guys know once I receive it.
