Halifax neighborhood

Hello,

We will be immigrating to Halifax from US .Would like to know which are the good neighborhoods in Halifax for Indian community . I am shifting with my family of one 4 year old and a newborn. Husbands workplace is in Barrington st

Why would you want to confine yourself to a Indian community?

To not feel alien initially!!

to get to know the best schools for my son to start school next year.
To find out about indian food outlets and to have an initial sense of belonging in foreign land.
Then we slowly explore other communities

Number one should be a good and safe area. You should be looking at what makes sense based on your budget, what rentals are available/suitable for your family and what will minimize your commute to work. The whole point of moving to Canada is to move to live in a multicultural community.

Yes safety is high priority,but overall Halifax has high safety index with exceptions of two or three areas. Work is @ barrington st so ideally apartments in and around downtown will be easy to commute, but we prefer to stay in calmer suburbs but with good transit and grocery shopping library around
