Had our INTERVIEW today !! (Moroccan husband)

i everyone. I am Canadian and sponsoring my husband from Morocco. Well after such a LONG wait, we had our interview today and it was NOT a good experience for him at all. She was very happy with all of our proofs, wedding photos, emails, chats, letters and all those things but she focused in on the fact that I was divorced and kept asking questions about it and then she also made the comment about why his mother didn't wear a traditional cafton to our wedding ceremony. Abdel said she asked questions and seem to not even care what his answers were at all, like she made up her mind. Anyway, before leaving she returned all the proves, emails etc to him and said she would let him know in one week! He is very confused as to why this lady was so negative kept saying our relationship wasn't normal just because we met online. (we met online around Feb 2008) and we married May 21, 2009 when I was in Morocco. Everyone here knows the struggles of long distance...Anyway, very scared. Very confused!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to you also. They asked only why I divorced and when, but she kept going back to the fact i was divorced because he didn't remember the dates. I think she focused on it because there was nothing else to focus on. I just heard from my really GOOD friend and the fact they gave back the proofs is a GOOD sign because if they were considering rejecting it they would take copies incase of an appeal. Lets hope so anyway.

So the interview was negative and they tried to confuse him and they did because he got french and english all mixed up...LOL ! Just stay focused and calm and answer questions with confidence. They are unemotional and unresponsive but just keep the focus. She said our relationship was not normal and he just replying saying, "no, you are wrong". We met online, everyone meets somewhere.

They did ask questions about my family, names, birthdays so make sure all the important stuff is memorized. They asked for our plans for the future, about my job etc....

one good thing is its an interview not an appeal and they alwyas try to trip you up thats how they and weed out the bad and most that do the interview from what i read are not very nice.

if things aren't returned then they may have made up their mind it was a refusal
or they are going to sift through and consider it
in cases...specifically Morocco if you dont get things back at the interview
then sponsor should fax the embassy immediately addresses anything that they feel
the applicant didn't answer correctly and ask the the interviewing IO call the sponsor for clarification
that will increase the chance of an approval if they are sitting on the fence
