Hey guys,
I had my interview today in lebanon , i was a refugee in canada for 5 years and when i was rejected and i asked to leave i got married the girl i was going out with which is obviously my wife now....i didnt get a good vibe today the officer kept asking me if i knew how much a refugee case cost the government and he called it trying to get into the country through the back door....bottom line what im trying to say is ..he didn't like me right from the start before we even started talking about the sponsorship....at the end he said " i will have to review your case and will let you know"
My thoughts were that's it i was sure rejected....im just wondering did anybody here had a "bad interview" and what happened afterwards...
thank you

No one can really know what the visa officer is thinking, however, it is a big red flag for them when a failed refugee then turns around and marries a Canadian or Canadian pr. Was this a quick marriage after the failed refugee application? You will really have to sit tight and wait to see their response, however, to try and be proactive, you can maybe start gathering things, proof, ideas, etc. for an appeal, where you can prove that u would have married your wife regardless of if your refugee claim went through or not... I don't have any experience with a pr interview, but these are the things that I would do if I was in your position. Also, hope for the best. They might just review your proof and realize they were giving u an unfair hard time, and see that they should just give the pr... But also prepare for the worst. It is better to be proactive.

A lot of visa officers dislike applicants right from the start, even before they speak, because based on their application, they see a refugee claim, they see insufficient evidence that your life is in danger and that you are suffering from government prosecution, they see someone marrying a Canadian right after their claim is denied, so of course they have strong feelings towards this.

I think that was using an interrogation technique to try to trip you up. If you answered all his questions to the best of your ability, it may not necessarily be a rejection. Again, the more I read such stories the stronger I feel that interviews should both be audiotaped and videotaped. Hope it turns out well for you.
