Had F-1 in America and wants to immigrate to Canada

Hi!
Nice forum!
I was a F-1 in USA but after graduated from school couldn't get sponsorship so now I am out of status (for about a year). I really want to get my papers straight, but wondered if I apply for skilled worker for Canada (or any other program) will I be eligible to move from USA to Canada (or will I have problem on the US border) without having to go back to my country of origin?

Some people have made it to Canada even their legal status has expired. you have to prove that you stayed legally in the usa for more a year.
