Hi Everyone - Our application has been pending for over 3 months now. Our application was received on May 2nd and last updated on June 30th. There has been no update since then. Is anyone in the same boat or have an idea what's the longest it has taken for someone to get their passports back. Consulate should not hold passports for this long... in case of emergency what option does anyone has. We have to travel to India in October and we are very stressed!
You can try calling the consulate for an update. Also, if you need to urgently travel, you can request your passport back. They will give it to you without visa. Once you finish your trip, you can submit again.
Folks, How long is the average time it’s taking for issuance since application delivered to them? Mine is H4 and was delivered early this week and shows application received. Would like to go to USA and file 485. Don’t want dates to change prior to that. Would need time to take medical tests too and doesn’t seem like can be done in Canada for 485 as per two panel physicians who I contacted - they only upload online and can not give sealed envelope it seems. Any input on average processing time would be helpful. Hope it is not six weeks as they state…
Hi, We are in GTA and in the process of submitting H1 and H4 visa stamping in Canada through drop box; my spouse is on ICT WP , myself on Visitor Visa and my daughter on Study visa. I would like to know whether H4 applicants on visitor/study visa be considered as a Canadian resident to be eligible for Dropbox?

My H4 renewal application was sent using Canada post to Toronto US Consulate.
1. Sent using Canada Post on August 15th.
2. Canada post shows delivered on August 17th.
3. DOS website shows that case was created on August 18th.
4. DOS shows Approved on August 22nd.
5. DOS shows Issued on August 23rd.
DOS website says it may take 10 days to ship the passport. Do you folks know how long it usually takes? I live in GTA and had requested at home delivery.

I have a mail-in appointment for my H1B stamping. I had to file an amendment which caused my DS-160 & H1B petition number to change. Does anybody know if I can get the details updated on the appointment? How long does it take for the update to take place? If this doesn't work, can I simply cancel and rebook with new details? Puralator delivery scheduled to my home today. The whole visa renewal process was very quick. Very impressed with the turnaround time. Not like India tatkal passport in two days, but roughly two weeks is still impressive for USA visa renewal as this used to be very hard process - getting appointment and wondering what they question etc.

Is this only H4 or H1 + H4 visa stamping thru dropbox? Also, are you on PR or Work/Visitor/Study permit?

I am in Canada PR. H4 renewal only. Spouse is still in USA in H1 already and has AP too. All the very best. I am amazed too about the quick processing!

did you send h1 and h4 as separate couriergiven that it generates two courier in receipt? Or did you combine in one package ?
for emergencies I believe you can ask consulate to release passport? I saw a thread on immihelp when someone did something similar.
by the way, the timeline above is very stressful. Is there anything in particular about the application that could have caused that? Like PR status, first time H1, etc ?

Hi, I have created account and added H1 and H4 applicants in ais.usvisa-info.com. Do I need to pay MRV fee separately for H1 and H4 in or can create a group and pay aggregate amount. if need to pay separately, will there be separate "Confirmation and Instructions page" for each applicant. ? Pls confirm
