Thank you, this is very helpful to know. I do have h1b visa stamp (from India) that expired in 2020 so i am thinking i will be eligible for drop box but i will need to fill out all information and wait for them to confirm. Were you in the similar situation as me?

Posting my dropbox experience:

Nov 11, Thursday: Submitted passport
Nov 12, Passport delivered, case created. I sent an email to consulate requesting to expedite, explaining my situation.
Nov 15, Monday: Administrative processing
Nov 16, Status updated to issued
Nov 19, Passport available for pickup

Can you please confirm all the documents you have submitted for dropbox?

No change yet still shows 'no status'. Got a reply from consulate that its taking longer as they are short staffed. 5 weeks no status update. If any one has any ideas on how to escalate please let me know.

Did you mail it to Ottawa or Toronto Consulate? Its been more than 10 days for me since it got delivered but have not heard anything yet.

Anyone can use Dropbox facility or is there any criteria for that?? All you guys have canada PR but working in USA on h1b??

All the usual stuff. Passport, ds160, i797, proof of pr, marriage certificate etc.

Hi All, we are planning to get H4 stamped in Canada ( we have canadian PR).

My h1b is being filed in premium and it will approved soon ( I-140 approved ) . Are we eligible to get our H4 stamped in Canada , if yes then would it be dropbox or in-person?

How do we go about booking a slot in Toronto/ Ottawa. Thanks so much.
