H1B visa appointment availability

They may be canceling everything through to the start of May. I would expect you'll receive a notice.

I did not get it hence surprised to see when i logged into the system(which i regularly check to reschedule for suitable date). I saw cancellation notice through whatsapp for consulates in India but thought Canada will hold for sometime but its not the case i guess. Checking embassy site today seems notification there.

Hello Everyone, I know the last reply on this thread is April 16. However, just wanted to check if anyone is still trying to book an appointment for H1b visa interview in Canada. I am currently on F1-OPT in USA, My H1b is approved under consular processing so now i have to get my H1B stamped, my current visa OPT is due to expire on 31st dec-2020. I have received my COPR and is valid until September 13, this means i have to travel before September 13 in order to get my PR Card.

I am in a difficult situation as i am trying to book an appointment for my H1b in Canada and i don't see any dates open anywhere in Canada not even in the next 3 months. Can anyone who is in the same boat and is actively looking for interview slots in Canada confirm if you see any appointments at all? I am afraid if there is something wrong with the appointment sites as it is not showing even single appointment in months. I will be waiting for your kind response...

Yes we dont have any appointment for sooner in few months. The date you saw is correct (Montreal for Nov and Calgary for Oct).

My situation is very different than yours: My H1 was stamped in Mar2020 through dropbox. The current application is for my family's H4. I am not in urgent to do. Also i am Canadian resident.

You can extend your COPR by sending webform request to cic https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp. There is no different/confusing steps - just one form. Dont just ask, tell that you are really afraid of travelling due to contraction of virus and fear for your life and request them to give you 6 months extension which they mostly honor due to current situation. Submit sooner to get response soon so that you are not reaching Sep without any response from cic and will confuse you at the last minute.

if someone is still interested Visa appointment is available now for Toronto for 2+ group: Jan 6 - 8.
I am still trying to reschedule but will see. As i dont have hopes to keep the appointments before Jan, i am thinking that i can get my family's H4 in Jan2021 at least but dont know if they would renew the EO and spoil the plan.

Seems that consulates will slowly start processing visa but anyway its not useful for us till Dec as the visa categories to be eligible for appointment doesnt include H.

The site doesnt allow to see latest availability. You need to pay the fee and be ready to book the appointment to see the actual dates.
