after briefly surfing this forum, I found the processing time for AINP applicants vary dramatically. Some folks applied in early 2009 and most of them got nomination in 1 year also. But some of them still waiting. What is the reason to cause such a variance? The folks applied in 2009 will do nothing just waiting?

would a dentist have a higher odds to get nominated than EE, phd, assuming all other factors same except the popularity of major/occupation/education?

To XYZCAA, my schedule is the same as yours. Application submision: Jan 2010, file number received thr email: Oct 2010.....do not have update so far. the processing time mentions at least 28 months....not sure if it means we will wait the other one or two years?

Hi all,
I am new to this thread, so please bear with my questions.

I applied to AINP-H1b visa category in Jan-2010. FedEx tracking number shows that my complete package was received and signed on Jan-26-2010 at Alberta office. I did not receive any communication from them yet. It's one complete year. I did not receive even a file/application number from AINP office.

My questions are:

1. Is this common not to receive atleast a file/application number from AINP for one full year? What is an average/typical time line to receive just file/application number from AINP?
(I see that all of you received your file number from AINP, but i did not received anything yet from them).

2. What's the step wise procedure, first receive the file/application number from AINP and second receive the nomination if they do not need any other documents from us and approve the application?

3. I was talking to someone who received PR thru AINP and he said that receiving file/application number from AINP is not necessary. Sometimes they may send the nomination directly. Is this correct?

4. I am planning to call them tomorrow, can you all help me in guiding.....what to ask....how to track my AINP app........?

Please help.
Thank you all.

Hi Raj567,

Mine is also same case. I sent application on Jan 16th, 2010 and they received on Jan 19th 2010. I sent through Fedex. Still I did not get any communication. Two of my friends who applied along with me got message after four or five months that their applications are not processing due to they are no more accepting applications on job stream they are applied.

Have you called them? If yes, whats the response you got? Please give me the contact number and details that need to provide on call.

Thank you

I received my File number after 17 months. I am still waiting for final decision.

My timeline:
Applied on 05/28/2009.
NOC: 2132 (Mechanical Engineering)
Email for Acknowledge of receipt: 10/22/2010

Good News!
I noticed one week ago that AINP processing time has reduced to 22 months for H1b category according web site.
Does someone heard any update?

Hi!

I received my File number, one and half month after I sent my application. My application was received on Sept 2 2010. I am still awaiting the nomination package.

wow, that's great. any news regarding faster processing time is welcome. in the meantime, you may want to check this informative site on Canada Immigration.

I had applied for AINP in mid-2009. After applying in 2009 my status changed from h1 (2.5 years on 1st H1) to h4 and now back to h1 just a few months back. There is no change to my NOC in both the H1's and my NOC falls in the Alberta occupation shortage list. Just a little confused on the eligibility criteria. Since now I am back on H1 from the previous H4 status, do I still qualify for AINP as I have a prior H1 status of 2.5 years with the h4 status separating the two H1 terms?

I just received a document request by Email from AINP alberta that they started processing my application and they are asking for current pay stub. and needs to be sent by Aug 23.2011

I received doc request on July 27 2011 and now waiting for nomination. Any idea how long before they give a decision?

I got my doc request on July 27 .. send all the Documents on July 29.. Waiting nomination .. Any idea how long it normally takes for people to get the nomination?

Hi spausa1,
I read somewhere that it takes 4 to 6 weeks to get nominated after this event, if everything goes well.
