Hey Highlander - thanks for the reply. Also thank you for the information on APEGGA.
I Have Masters in mech from US university and have nearly 4 years of experience here. However, now my job field is Structural design engineering - like roof/floor structure design and engineering. But previously I have had experiences in marine/mech engg fields. What are my chances of getting the membership in APEGGA? Do you think if i ll be able to get memebership under mech instead of structural engg? What are your inputs?
Thank you once again. And nice to see other guys under 2132. I think we should all work together. :)
I have three and half years of experience and i have done my MS (Mech.) from US as well. I have applied for MIT as they are very strict about the experience (four years in perticular field under a PE) and i didn't wanna take chances and wait for six-eight months to hear 'NO'. You might wish to do the same, afterall membership is neccesary to even apply in our field.

I think the person has a job offer. Here's the quote from his post:
My employer in US is moving me over there. So I didn't have to do anything special to get the job offer.
Canadiens,

Who is this person. what is the user id ?

Depends on job you wish to look for, if you are applying for project manager job and not technical job then you may not need certification from APEGGA. But again job availability might be different for both as well.

Hey Highlander - Thanks for the info. Yes even i felt going for Member-in-training would be a good option after going thru all the details in their website.Have you started looking for jobs already or are you waiting for the membership to come in? I have searched for jobs, but have'nt really applied for any. I am not sure whenz the best time to start. what are your thoughts on that? should I wait till I get my nomination or should I wait till I get the membership in hand?
Thank you very much and we shall keep each other updated.

I would say wait for nomination and then apply...

Even if you have M-I-T certificate, somebdy giving u job offer from Alberta in 1 in million. So, why waste money and time.

People applied for PCC hoping to get nomination soon but have found their PC certificates useless and have wasted money on them....

Sonu,

not sure what you major is but for us i can say i have found many good jobs and to my surprise i am getting calls...i do not wish to offend you dude but if you have limited knowledge plz do not give advise or discourage someone...and honestly the thing is...i am planing on settling on Canada just because there are better paying jobs for people like me and better opportunities....AINP or No AINP...i don't give a damn....if AINP shuts down tomorrow i will still find job and go through Engineering Catagory.......!!!

Shaash:- dude in my opinion you should wait for the certification from apegga as every company will ask for registration number to cross check the information (since everyone can look at the registered professionals online.). So if i were you i would wait until the registration and then apply, cause i did apply and during my interview calls they asked about my number and not having it kinda disqualifies you.

Dude, dont tell me what knowledge I have and what I dont. I am not discouraging you and neither I am encouraging you. I am just telling what I know. They way u digest this information and take your decision is your responsibility. I am not telling u exactly what to do and what not

guys...looks like this forum is useless and there is no timeline for AINP since nobdy is getting nominations and i dont expect AINP to issue any...

It was nice to agree and disagree with lot of people....i'll be just a sneek peeker bystander on this forum now onwards like many others who just sneek peek with no +ve or -ve input.....

So, bye bye forum. AINP is over. Hoping for some other provincial program to get out and i'll try to apply early there..... lol..............Good luck guys...

Good luck sonu, we will miss you.

It would help other applicants if you withdraw yours from AINP. everyone behind yours will get it faster.

DONT CREATE A NEW ID AND COME AGAIN ;)

Please Advice

Hi All,

I guess I was stupid to depend solely on AINP for Canada Immigration. I see other people applying through multiple streams and taking benefit of parallel processing (hence saving time).

Please advice me what should I do now? I guess to get a job without being physically in Canada is not possible.

Should I apply through regular CIC or any other stream??

your suggestions are valuable, Please guide.
