For those of you who have send the application package to CIC Buffalo:

what kind of payment did you use to pay the processing fee? I have seen some people said they knew on what date their check being cashed, but when I was in my bank (BOA) this morning, I was told they only have one kind of bank check, and there is no way to track when this check will be cashed. They said for cashier/certifified check, the money would be withdrawn from the account at the time when you get the check, so the check is already like a kind of cash and can not be tracked further.

Is this true? Please share the info about what kind of check and which bank did you use, and how did you track it. Thanks a lot.

I see. Maybe the cashier I asked is also not familiar with this. I'll check with my bank again. thank you.

You can check by calling BOA customer care too, they will transfer the call to their internal team which manages this. Before calling, have your copy of Cashier check handy because they will ask the check no and other details...

Can you go across the border to NY or PA and get them done?

not sure if i get your question. but if you are in new jersey. you should go to a precinct in your neighborhood with your state ID. they will take impressions of your fingers. you can take the form available on fbi's website (the link i had sent you earlier). the precinct will charge you some fee, the precinct in my neighborhood charged me $15. I gave them a money order.

I was filling out the forms and have something to mention on IMM008 - SCHEDULE 1 (BACKGROUND / DECLARATION) Question 9

These are the questions that in the past I have always checked "NO" to all and did not read carefully through each of them.

Under Q9 (point ii) it asks for
"Previously sought refugee status in canada or applied for canadian immigrant or permanent resident visa or visitor or Temporary resident visa"

I guess I will have to fill out 'YES' this time and fill the details of canadian visitor visas I have held for in the past.

Previously I had read only first line about the "refugee status" and blindly checked "NO"

I wanted to share this with others so that somebody else does not overlook this question 9 point #2

I also lived in Canada for one year. Please can you tell me did you get your PCC from Canada for CIC ?

Thanks

Re: Fingerprint card for FBI

Find a local business store that do fingerprinting services. The store will roll your fingerprints on a card, but you need to pay for the service and the card. The fingerprint card provided by them is truely a card, unlike the one you downloaded from FBI website which is only a card image on a piece of plain paper. The professional who did my fingerprinting told me that there will be a high chance to be rejected by FBI if I use the downloaded card. I payed for the fingerprint card with clean fingerprints on it for me and my wife. I just got our FBI report back yesterday in approximately 12 weeks.

Hope this helps.

I am in a bit of a dilemma. I need a fingerprint card to apply for the FBI clearance records. I got fingerprinted at Sagem Morpho, the agency that handles prints for New Jersey state police. I was informed that my prints would be sent to the NJ police department and that I would be receiving some letter (which I am guessing is the PCC for New Jersey state) from them.

When I called up the "Personal Records Department" for NJ, they told me they don't really issue fingerprint cards. The operator mentioned that I should find the card online on FBI's website. However, the website provides a blank copy of the card which has to be filled by a government agency such as the police department. And I mentioned earlier, the NJ police department said they do not provide fingerprint cards.

So how do I get my prints taken? Any help would be appreciated!

You are not required to get a PCC for your stay in canada.

This information is from 'Guide for Provincial Nominees'

"Police certificates
You and your family members who are 18 years of age and older and are not permanent residents or Canadian citizens have to provide:
•a valid police certificate, or
•police clearance, or
•record of no information.
These documents are to be provided for each country other than Canada, in which you have lived for six consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18."

I have never lived in Canada, just visited there for weekends etc...

hope this helps.

One question regarding #3 -

Virgos/Others,

Do we need to paste the photo in the space reserved for photo? My friend told me that he pasted photo on the space reserved for it.

Can we take ONE draft or cashier check for all (Applicant, spouse&dependents).

Thank you
Virgo
