Hi Guys,

I had been to the Indian Consulate in NYC. Trust me... its gave me a quick snapshot of how things are going to be when you return to India.

I am here not telling that its bad to go back to India... I am here talking about the sorry state of affairs... old people being sent back to get documents photocopied in this cold weather.... old people loosing their temper when asked for additional documents when submitting their application for various purposes.... God help...

It was actually told for fun... "It happens only in Indya"...

Anyways.... my passport was renewed in NYC consulate and my wives was from b'glore... so the middle aged lady goddess in the counter ordered me to remit both the passports... and to collect my passport/PCC on the same day and my wives after approx a month... I thought bollock why the heck should I give my ppts.. but then thought no use conversating with the human goddess.. I gave my ppt and told her that will contact them after a month for submitting my wives ppt...

End result I will loose one more may day of my billing as I work as a consultant...

I did not listen when my dear friend advised that I should get my PCC in India by spending some red backs (INR ;) )

I wonder if India will ever change... not that its bad now :)

BR,
McLuvin

They need your passport as they will stamp it - PCC for Canada immigration issued on xxx date"
My experience with SFO consulate was wonderful...i had never expected things to be that fast...we have passports issued in India. We went there twice - once to submit the application & second to collect PCC...i think that is the way it works if you are not sending via mail......they said it could take 1 month but it took less than 10 day(including holidays/weekend). They did ask us for our passport but we told them we will get it the day we come to collect PCC. We got a call in less than a week asking us to collect PCC......We submitted our passport at around 11am & the window opened exactly at 4:00pm (not a minute late) to return our passport with PCC. Also i found them very polite & helpful.

If you dnt want to go there personally they have mailing option as well... i think u need to send extra money for mail charges - not sure.

Did they take your contact number ..get in touch with them within 10 days and check if your wife's PCC is ready.

Did anyone try and get a digital scan for FBI? I've tried to research on that and didn't come across any instances where we can request our records directly. Most of the digital ones are for recruiting nurses.
Thanks.

Is there at least one guy who tried livescan for FBI clearance certificate? Can you share your experience?

I tried to research the posts here, but I couldn't find anyone tried livescan. Please, update if anyone know if we can use livescan for FBI certificate. If livescan could be used, that will be reliable and will save lots of time for all of us.

i have heard many members talk about live scan for FBI but i doubt anyone has done it. Live scan is for PCC states- that also not for all the states. Even on FBI site there is nothing mentioned about Live scan....so really not sure about live scan for FBI.. but would love to kknow if anyone has got it done.

Re: H1-Alberta PNP-nominations NOV'09 and later+PCC, FBI,CIC application discuss

People understood the meaning of "LIVESCAN". "LIVESCAN" can't give you result report in 24-48 hrs. 'LIVESCAN' means scan your finger prints using device and print it out. in the meantime, your finger prints data may also be read by FBI directly. However, you still have to mail your finger printers and wait for 3 months to obtain result.

Yesterday I asked a fingerprint technician about submitting fingerprints electronically to FBI. He said FBI/DOJ (Department of Justice) accepts electronic submission for some purposes such as nursing license but he has not seen the case in which fingerprints are submitted electronically to FBI for personal review or immigration background check. So mailing fingerprint card might be the only way for us to get FBI clearance, but it'll be great to hear from anyone who has done it electronically.

Also, my FBI clearance timeline is exactly the same as ChaloCanada's (mailed: 12/2, received by FBI: 12/7). But unfortunately I haven't heard anything from FBI yet...

Hi Guys.

Please anybody can tell me how long the PCC is taking from NY and MA? and when I have to send PCC request ? I sent my FBI request 1 week ago.

Thanks

I mailed my cards end-Nov and these were delivered to FBI on Dec 2. I haven't called them and will wait another week - I read from another post that FBI will process in a week or two.
Best of luck, Manny

Guys,

I have a question... any relavent answers appreciated...

I have got my PCC from indian consulate NYC... i got it with in 2 days as I had taken my ppt from indian consulate NYC. My wives is expected in 30 days.

My FBI was sent in mid Jan... so i expect it to come around mid may. By that time my/our Indian PCC would have expired. Is there a way to get my/our Indian PCC in a expidated way... or would it again take the similar time frame...

I am asking about this thinking that the Indian Consulate would have details of already issued PCC's in their systems.

Or am I just thinking way ahead considering the IT systems that the Indian Consulate has in place ;D.

BR,
McLuvin

Same situation here, my state and home country certificates will expire in April 18,
if i dont recieve my fbi by first week of April, i will send my application without fbi records to buffalo, explaining the situation... then will send fbi certificates at later time....

McLuvin, if you applied in mid Jan - Based on the current timeline .. you should probably have it by April first week .. isn't it ? and you would still have a month and half ahead ?

yah same as my situation, applied for FBI mid Jan, and I got my Indian PCC on Jan 21 which will be invalid by April 21...

I will also send my application early April (if I dont receive FBI by then) without FBI with a cover letter explaining.......and then send the FBI later.....

yeah, i guess no shortcuts for FBI yet!
Waiting to see "FBI report received" post from some member, as of now it seems the applications have all got stuck.
