My application reached Buffalo on April 8 and my check has not been cased. My nomination expires May 17.

As per the USPS tracking it was received at CIC on 6th April. My check has not been encashed yet nor was it returned yet. My nomination expires on 29th May.

Great! I suppose you mean 4/30 - you sent application to CIC on Apr 07.
Good to note CIC is fairly consistent with time to complete initial checking of applications.

Hello Friends, I'm in problem - FBI background is giving me problems. My first finger print got rejected. I resent it on 1st week of April and currently its in process. My nomiation expires in 1st week on June ( I only have 2 weeks ). So what do I do in this case? Can I send the application without FBI background? Please let me know soon . I appreciate it.

Yes Praveen, send it right away with out FBI. You can send FBI once you get your AOR and that I guess it will be within 4 months after you send application to CIC..

Can you guys share what is the expected waiting time to get AOR/medical once the application reached CIC?

my question :
1) even if cic wants to return the application how long does it take?
2) I see that many applicants have used money orders .Is there any particular reason?
I have sent a demand draft. Will it delay the process?

I have another question. My h1b is ex my h1b is expiring may 31st and i have applied for change of status to student but its not approved yet. Will it cause problem if I submit the application to buffalo office just with copies of my h1b stamp. Or should i write a letter and explain to them that I am waiting for approval of change of status after my h1b expires. I appreciate your thoughts on this.

Our dates of submission are just a week apart. Lets be in touch. Even my draft hasnt been drwan yet. I have applied for my wife kid and myself. I have submitted it with police clearance certificates and FBI clearance. THe package reached on the 28th of April. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi guys

I have been on ROM since a long time reading all your helpful suggestion. This thread and this forum's members simply rock. I have recently sent my application without the FBI record to the CIC office . My nomination was expiring on the 22nd of May so sent it without the records. I did attach a letter explaining the delay and hopefully the office kindly processes it without them. Meanwhile have heard from the FBI office ...the fingerprint cards are good somehow it seems the DOB details were not clear to them . I faxed the requested information and hope to get the fbi records soon.

Meanwhile have an quick question. Do we have to fax the PN status update sheet to the Alberta office indicating to them that the application has been sent to the CIC buffalo office.
