Should add that you can attempt to have removals put on hold if you get a removal order during processing. Always down to individual cases.

If you have a removal order and are attempting to have it put on hold I would suggest hiring a lawyer.

Since is taking too long, last month I applied at Ontario Service and got my health card using the AIP letter.

You can order your GCMS notes but if you have received AOR and it’s been less than around 15 it is unlikely to show anything about processing because nothing has likely been done. When did you apply?

I applied on August 1st, 2024, and completed my biometrics about a month later. On the website where I submitted my application, it still just says “submitted,” but I was told that the status there doesn’t always reflect the actual progress. How do I order GCMS notes? And how long does it usually take to receive them?

Not sure why you waited so long to apply for OHIP. As you said not much you can do but wait and calling doesn’t lead to faster landing. Perfect example of why reform of H&C program is needed because this will only get worse given the limited quota that is scheduled to decrease even further in the next 2 years (approximately cut in half). We’re currently looking at around 1 year between p1 and p2 but that could easily be 2 years next year which is insane.

There is no really point in applying for GCMS notes at this point given your file hasn’t started processing and won’t likely for another year. Would suggest following timelines for others applying for H&C to get an idea of what you can anticipate in terms of processing timelines. Especially when processing starts for people who filed around the same time you did. As previously noted I would expect another year or more until someone starts processing your application unless there are changes to the program. There is a very large amount of applicants for a very small quota so processing is likely to be years if there are no reforms although may be slightly faster for denials. I would suggest exploring other pathways to PR even if would involve temporarily leaving Canada. This will be dependent on your profile. Learning French while your H&C is processed is a good idea for example.

Just a question, why do you call them? The only thing you can really do is go to the MP of your constituency and ask them to vouch for you if the processing time is longer than it says it should be.
