Hey guys well i am at 463 at the moment but soon enough will be at 458 due to loosing points for age,to be honest with the recent changes and draws i have my doubts that scores will ever drop to low levels and i tend to believe that all the talk about scores dropping to 450 wont happen, anyways now i have some options:
1-start learning french and plan to have the exam in the next year
2-do nothing and wait
3- forget about immigrating to canada and look for other options

Hey,

I can suggest the following:

- Start learning French. (Never stop learning in your life)
- If you haven't maxed out IELTS, then I would suggest to do that, before start learning French.
- If you are in Canada, try moving to provinces, where you can apply for PNP. Sask PNP seems very attractive.
- If you are outside Canada, try contacting your friends in Canada, so they can help you in a Job Offer supported by LMIA.
- Apply for Quebec Mon Projet, when the next intake starts. You can apply without French TEF exam.
- Check Australian Immigration option. If you score 60 points in their scorecard, you may apply directly to Australia.

My personal thought is that CRS score won't drop to 460s anytime soon, so plan your above options.

Wait for OINP to reopen, keep watching the forum for updates.

450s are no longer as competitive as they used to be, that peg is now moved slightly upwards to 470s largely due to the 15/30 incremental points for Canadian education and 50 points for ICT category. But the pool should stabilize over time and, given what little we know of pool composition over time, 450 does appear to be a fairly balanced level for that.

The advice that I can personally think of is (if you haven't done so) do you BEST to hit the CLB 10 score on the English language test (i.e. IELTS R:8.0; W:7.5; L:8.5; S:7.5) because simply this also helps with other factors namely foreign post-secondary education and foreign work experience.

I hope this is clear, if not let me know

I would expect that to happen early 2017 provided IRCC keeps drawing 2000+ applicants each time.

I will be at 458 in 2017,well does ontario ask for a lot of work experience documents or only work experience letter is enough am asking because i can only have access to any documents that i might be asked for from my current work but i would rather not tell them because they have history of changing their treatment with anyone planning to leave

Even I'm in similar situation as yours, with my spouse ielts pending. Seeing her standard scores in practice tests, I'm guessing that I'll end up in similar score as yours. I have same opinion as yours, I'm guessing that cutoffs would stay high (475+) given the changes. I'm just hoping for OINP retain their human capital program next year at least with 450+ cutoff and not scrap it altogether. If they make like it bc PNP (job offer required), it'd be end of hopes for fsw to immigrate to Canada unless someone is between 25-30 with high English score and master degree.

Unfortunately i could have easily gained aroun 6-9 points if her results were better but she took it 4 times already and nothing changed
